Jesse finished with 16 points 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Evan with 16 also on 7-11 from the floor. Carter with 9, 4 boards and 3 blocks.

Parakhauski was pretty much the whole show for them with 26 and 15. Only 3 rebounds in the second half though.

I think this is the happiest all of us have been about LU Men's basketball all season. It's great getting a win like this, and the confidence that has to be built in the guys, especially Jesse, Evan, and Big Mac has got to be huge! Awesome win!

(Of course, we all know VMI can fritter that away in no time)
We just about did.........let HPU get within 2, but Kenon was 6-6 from the line the final 17 seconds. We were up 19 at the 15:40 mark, we shot 1-12 from three in the 2nd half :?

Great win for LU!!!! Hey, we got Radford fat-headed for you all after Thursday's game, and y'all got High Point fat-headed for us as well

WOW, five teams at 5-4.........three of those will be on the road March 2nd (I hope we are, and not playing golf).

Should be a great game and atmosphere at the Vines on Thursday. Play Basketball

Man, Im almost speechless. Amazing win. Jesse was amazing. Evan was clutch. I've been impressed with JA lately though. He's become much more than just a jump shooter. Konan played well and you could tell he wasn't afraid of their "big 3." And I'm trying not to get too excited with Carter :D He was better than Art on numerous possessions. Cannot say enough about his performance tonight.

And Coach Layer had a terrific game plan.

Big Time win. Jesse with big minutes, Evan with an awesome game, David Minaya (still my boy) giving some good minutes on D against the bigs, Carter showing up big, too. Great game boys.

Some numbers that stand out...

7/11, 16 pts., 3 ast., 3 reb. for Evan
5/8, 15 pts., 6 reb, 6 ast. for Jesse
9 pts, 4 reb, 3 blocks for CMac

9/31 from Johnson, Smith, and Trifunovic.

One of the things that doesn't show up in Carter's stat line is the amount of balls that he tipped to other players. There were rebounds and steals where he couldn't get it himself but he deflected it to a teammate who got credit for it.

Congrats to LU for a well deserved win. You brought your "A" game and we brought nothing. Our perimeter game is our albatross and it was in evidence tonight. LU played a scrappy, smart intense game and my RU hats off to your performance.

It was one game, though, and I do think and believe our overall talent will show up and take the conference.

We'll see you later at Vines...

You guys are good as evidenced by some of the results I have seen in games earlier this year but you are somewhat inconsistent. We benefited from your poor shooting for sure

Inconsistant is an understatement. We have one senior point guard (Amir Johnson) who seems to have forgotten how to shoot and his backups are freshman who are promising... very promising but are still freshman.

They need to mature quickly.

Lang showing McMasters some love:
LU’s McMasters stymies Radford’s Parakhouski
By Chris Lang | Sports writer
RADFORD — Many adjectives have been used to describe Liberty freshman center Carter McMasters. Agile. Athletic. Eccentric.

Physical? Not really. That’s been the knock on the 6-foot-11 McMasters, his seeming unwillingness to mix it up in the low post on a consistent basis. But with Liberty’s most physical presence — Antwan Burrus — saddled with four fouls Saturday night, McMaster had no choice but to add physical to the list. Radford center Art Parakhouski, a near shoo-in to make one of the three All-American teams when the season ends, was threatening to take over a surprisingly competitive game.

McMasters liked the challenge. He gave up 50 pounds to the big Belarusian, but he didn’t back down, fronting him, limiting his touches and stunting Radford’s chance to get back into the game. Liberty’s stunning 60-55 victory at the Dedmon Center was all about defense and the Flames’ ability to dictate how the game was played.

And McMasters played a huge role. “He grew up,” Flames coach Dale Layer said.

“When (Burrus) came out with two fouls, I was like, ‘Hey, this is the moment you’ve been waiting all year for,’” McMasters said. “It’s time to get going.”

I thought I made some logical points/arguments in that pregame post. Just goes to show you why sports is fun ... you never know what will happen on a given night.
