From the N&A today:
http://www2.newsadvance.com/lna/busines ... ess/22400/
DigitalBridge Communications has signed a contract with Liberty University and Virginia School of the Arts to use the schools’ broadcast licenses to provide wireless high-speed Internet access throughout the Lynchburg area.

Meanwhile, Congress has approved a $220,000 grant for LU to explore ways to expand the wireless technology. U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello, D-5th District, announced the funding Tuesday.

Lee Beaumont, LU’s director of auxiliary services, said the Ashburn, Va.-based DigitalBridge has agreed to use the wireless spectra to provide “significant service” in the region by 2011, because the schools must use or risk losing their licenses.

He said the federal grant would be used to study ways to extend the WiMAX access to areas without broadband Internet access and investigate new ways to use the technology.

Here's an idea LEE: beam all LU sports directly to PAmedic's TV in Hi-Def.
