Being supportive of progress doesn't mean you take everything without a filter. The guys on this board who do support the University have filters and acknowledge that things don't go according to the first plan.

I support and I filter. Check. I do agree that things don't always go as planned and it doesn't always mean failure. But, even looking at the whole forest, you can see patterns that emerge. It obviously can not be argued that there are big donors who continue to come through. And I guess this is where we differ, you see that as "justification" of what is going on, I don't. And let us be perfectly clear, I have never said nor intimated that Liberty is a failure. I obviously have a take on several things that have happened and may happen that IS contrarian to what is being pumped out from the mansion, but as I stated before, I am excited about what LU can become.

I'm sure I could come up with more ridiculous ideas, but just off the top of my head, from recent years:

Liberty Village
Scholarship Scratchers (never saw the light of day, but it was a ridiculous idea when it was tossed around a few years ago)
Fine Corinthian Turkeys
A state-of-the-art IMAX theater

On a brighter note, the seats in the rink have been installed.

BLASPHEMER!!! Do you not know the heresey of speaking ill of The Mountain?? Do you wish to bring down pesticlence on us all?? Don't you understand you risk eternal damnation on the lake of fire. (Or at the very least listening to Danny Lovett sing his tribute to Doug Oldham and our former Artist in Residence Charles Billingsly?)
(Well since no one else jumped on you I thought I would what with all the practice I've had as whipping boy!)

Ridiculous is subjective. Again I say, at least they're trying. What are you doing?

It all depends on how you are asking.
What are you doing??????
WHAT ARE YOU DOING??????!!?!?!
What, are you doing? <sigh>
What? Are you doing?

What does it matter??? Of course ridiculous is subjective. Most of life is subjective. You may think Will Ferrell is ridiculous, I could view him as the Comedic Messiah. By saying it is subjective neither gives nor takes credibility. While you may think that it is perfectly proper to build a resort/amusement park/recruiting tool in the name of the LORD, others may think it is a tad over the top. Who is right if it is subjective?
As far as trying, that is great. Some say it is better to try and fail then to have not tried at all. (Or was that love?) The point is, no one on this board is Chancellor Falwell (although I have my suspicions about that LIBERTINE feller, I thik that is a fake mustache) therefore any decisions won't come from anyone in here. I am going out on a limb here but if you are on this board then you are showing you have an interest in LU. Some have done so finanacially, some through other efforts.
Now back to Janet Jackson's "What have you done for me lately"

Just seems like a lot of complaining, to me. If you're making a real effort to help the school be better, that's respectable. If you're just whining here, then it's still just annoying.

What? Brokback isn't here just to whine. Why, he's knee deep in sports discussion. It's not like he just limits his posting to the off topic areas and the LU policy related threads. Haven't you seen his analysis on last weeks football game? I mean, you'd have to carry quite a grudge to log onto flamefans.com every night just to let anyone who will listen know that you think every decision LU makes is dumb. That's not the Brokeback I know.

Well, I am glad you still respect me!!!
I was unaware that you had to balance your posts between specific sports and the other topics. My bad. Of course I have posted on sports, but since the fall season just started there hasn't been much to post. We have played two "lesser" schools that we should have beat and we did. We had great turn out for the Noah's Ark game. What more is there to say? I am not a student, so some of these issues aren't really important. My partner does not usually like to venture out to LU, for obvious reasons, so we don't head up the games much. (Although I sneak in from time to time)
As for the "Whining". I would agree, if all I did was complain and did not either a) Offer solutions or b) make an effort to change it. Since I have/had/am doing both, I am not sure you can label it as whining. Contrarian, probably but not whining.
TALLY- That is so thoughtful of you!!! Is it the original super glue or have you gone with the gorilla glue? :D
