If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

NORTH SOUTH
Women's Accesories: ChapStick in back pocket and a $20 bill in the front pocket. Louis Vuitton duffel with two lipsticks, waterproof mascara, and a fifth of bourbon. Money not necessary - that's what dates are for.
Stadium Size: College football stadiums hold 20,000 people. High school football stadiums hold 20,000 people.
Fathers: Expect their daughters to understand Sylvia Plath. Expect their daughters to understand pass interference.
Campus Decor: Statues of founding fathers. Statues of Payton Winners or Heisman trophy winners.
Homecoming Queen: Also a physics major. Also Miss America.
Heroes: Rudy Giuliani Paul "Bear" Bryant
Getting Tickets: 5 days before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus and purchase tickets. 5 months before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus and put name on waiting list for tickets.
Parking: An hour before game time, the University opens the campus for game parking. RVs sporting their school flags begin arriving on Wednesday for the weekend festivities. The really faithful arrive on Tuesday.
Game Day: A few students party in the dorm and watch ESPN on TV. Every student wakes up, has a beer for breakfast, and rushes over to where ESPN is broadcasting "College Gameday" to get on camera and wave to the idiots up north who wonder why "College Gameday" is never broadcast from their campus.
Tailgating: Raw meat on a grill, beer with lime in it, listening to local radio station with truck tailgate down. 30-foot custom pig-shaped smoker fires up at dawn. Cooking accompanied by live performance by "Hootie and the Blowfish," who come over during breaks and ask for a hit off bottle of bourbon or drink straight from the keg.
Getting to the Stadium: You ask "Where's the stadium?" When you find it, you walk right in. When you're near it, you'll hear it. On game day it becomes the state's third largest city.
Concessions: Drinks served in a paper cup, filled to the top with soda. Drinks served in a plastic cup, with the home team's mascot on it, filled less than half way with soda, to ensure enough room for bourbon.
When National Anthem is Played: Stands are less than half full, and less than half of them stand up. 100,000 fans, all standing, sing along in perfect four-part harmony.
The Smell in the Air After the First Score: Nothing changes. Fireworks, with a touch of bourbon.
Commentary (Male): "Nice play." "Dammit, you slow sumbitch - tackle him and break his legs."
Commentary (Female): "My, this certainly is a violent sport." "Dammit, you slow sumbitch - tackle him and break his legs."
Announcers: Neutral and paid. Announcer harmonizes with the crowd in the fight song, with a tear in his eye because he is so proud of his team.
After the Game: The stadium is empty way before the game ends. Another rack of ribs goes on the smoker, while somebody goes to the nearest package store for more bourbon; planning begins for next week's game...

Nothing in the world compares to the glory and
tradition that is Southern Fried Football™!

its funny that the largest football stadiums are in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Having been to games at both of those stadiums, I have to disagree with a lot of these.

This went around a year ago here as Texan vs Yankee football.

And Rueful, states like Pennsylvania, Ohio & Michigan are the exception. They treat football like the South. Of course most of the South pales in comparison to how the sport is treated in the Lone Star State. High school football is bigger than most northern colleges.

Yeah, and PA high school football is pretty big too. Tom Cruise was in a movie about it. I think you really just mean New England instead of North.

Also, that first one doesn't really make any sense

I, like BYD have been all over in terms of north and south (staying east of the mississippi)... I'm not a big ten fan, nor an sec fan, but to say that the south has a better stadium capacity/electricity/environment is quite absurd. The "Big" Ten as BYD put it, actually holds the top 3 largest in capacity stadiums in the nation. PSU, Mich, OSU. Texas follows in 4th and Tennessee rounds out the top 5. Only 1 SEC stadium within the top 5. 3 in the top 10 (2nd being UGA, and LSU in 9th).... Not saying this puts Big Ten football better than SEC, which it does not, but when we're talking about stadiums.... Gotta give it to the Big Ten.

In terms of HS football, since I have played in both the north and the south for HS, I must say, the south dominates. In terms of overall school spirit and talent..... goes to the south.

I Live in atlanta. I drove to work tuesday morning at 5am. I was accompanied by a convoy of BUSES and RV's from Florida and alabama. The fans have been flowing in since then. the tailgate pit is full and people have been tailgating since tuesday. TUESDAY. I realize its the SEC championship but i've never seen stuff like this in the northern schools. even michigan and ohio state don't match up. these people are Serious about their football. I was at the Outback bowl a few years ago when USC (south carolina) played Ohio State. The tailgating on the south carolina side pretty much can be described by the commentary above. it was crazy. even inside the stadium they were louder, more rowdy and went and tailgated after. it was awesome. Sly the one experience I havent had yet is some southwestern football over in the lone star state. I'd love to go watch a texas game. i'd also like to hear from some people who have been to west coast games. all i can think of when it comes to west coast is the group from Washington state that always has their flag where ever college gameday goes across the country. thats some serious traveling. haha.
