flamesfilmguy wrote:Its the yearly downfall of GW. I'm surprised more of you guys didn't see it coming. GW always tails off after starting strong in conference. its like the tide. I don't know if its a coaching thing or a strength and conditioning thing. or they just don't know how to finish a season. I don't know.Honestly, I think it is more of a "we don't have enough quality players on the 2 deep roster to finish when some of our stars get hurt" thing. As some of our starters have been sidelined by injures, we just don't have the kind of player we need in the 3 spot to step up and produce. I do believe GW is recruiting better now than they have in recent years and this should improve.

I shoot with a Nikon D-90 and a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 lens. The pros on the sidelines look at me kind of funny, but I enjoy myself. I post these pics on my facebook site and it is viewable by anyone. The team has a good time tagging the pics up after the game. I even got some CCU players tagging pics after last week's game.

- Liberty jumped to No. 21 in the GPI this week, a key indicator of a team’s position in terms of earning an at-large berth in the FCS playoffs. A closer look at the teams ahead of Liberty reveals:
12. Jacksonville State—ineligible for the playoffs
13. Eastern Washington—must win its final two games (at Southern Utah, at Northern Arizona) to reach seven DI wins.
14. Delaware—must beat Navy and Villanova to reach seven DI wins.
16. Weber State—must beat Northern Arizona and Cal Poly to reach seven DI wins.
18. James Madison—cannot reach seven DI wins.
t19. Northern Arizona—must beat Weber State and Eastern Washington to reach seven DI wins, would be a great test case for a 7-4 team if it wins out
Of those six teams, only one will be in a position to compete with a 9-2 Liberty at season’s end if the Flames can win their last two games. And don’t forget Montana State, which is lurking at No. 23 and can get to 8-3 by winning out against a suddenly surging Sacramento State team and arch-rival Montana.
Fresh off their fifth-straight victory and pushing their record to 7-2 overall this season, the Flames now begin the final home stretch of their 2009 schedule with a pair of road games, which will determine the fate of this year’s Big South championship.Click here to watch Coach Rocco's Press Conference

The Bulldogs, who come into the game after dropping back-to-back league contests, are out of the race for this year’s title, but homestanding Gardner-Webb can still spoil the Flames charge toward a third-straight championship.
