What did everyone think of the event? Like it? Hate it? What parts were better than others? Anything you thought we shouldn't have done?

So many ideas (most of them probably bad)...
1. A five-minute scrimmage would have been nice.
2. A shooting contest between the 2 HC's would have been great!
3. This is probably asking way too much, but can none of our girls dunk?
4. How about a dribbling relay race between the guys' & girls' PGs?
Shouldn't have done? I'd say less cheerleader gymnastics. :cheerleader

PS--If they ever want to put a faculty member (who used to play the game ) on the panel for judging the dunking contents, I'd volunteer!

make it an 8 or 9 foot rim and your in business there Cider Jim. Of course then mostly any dude could dunk on that short of a rim, so what would the point be?

Flames fans inside the Schilling Center felt the heat Monday night as Liberty Athletics hosted its second annual Madness on the Mountain. This year, the event featured appearances from the men’s and women’s basketball teams, head coaches and the Liberty cheerleading squad.

The night’s highlights included a three-point tournament between Flames and Lady Flames players as well as a men’s dunk contest.
Video highlights

Yes, I know the video is shaky, and yes, I know the audio is bad at the end when the coaches are talking. There wasn't much I could do about that.

I like the fact that Dale Layer seems to GENUIENLY like what he is doing and really have fun with tthe players. I predict that defections will be rare if any under him. He is not at all fake, and I like that.

I like it too, & maybe God really does want him @ Liberty (Realist). It's pretty obvious that the former coach was disingenuous in his statements to the Liberty Faithful, but some across the nation (Read New Mexico et. al) saw that one coming.

BTW - great game for BJ last night.

Should be an interesting season, and I believe, in certain respects, a better one.

Yea, we might actually see something that looks like basketball.

Layer's props to WBB (in SJ's highlight video) was commendable. Well said, coach.

Interesting debate on that. Some doors open and Ritchie made a move that is guarenteed to better his career.

I think, and no offense to Becky and Donna and the other women, but I think we needed to have some judges on the panel for the dunk contest who know a little bit more about basketball. I don't think they know very much about dunking and it showed from their scores.

no, Brittany Campbell was a good choice. She did a good job judging. She knows basketball. I think maybe former players or something would be better choices...
