I will always remember that accent. Its not a typical southern accent but more of an accent unique to Lynchburg and parts of Southern Va. Kinda of like Ward Burton.

I will kinda miss the voice, same whenever JE's time is done. They arent perfect by any means, but I admire there dedication and loyalty to the school. I seem to identify their voices with Liberty sports, it will be weird not hearing him next year.

Itll be the end of an era when Jerry Edwards retires...I mean he is literally THE voice of the Flames...I mean any broadcaster would have some pretty big shoes to fill

oldflame, you may be thinking of the guy that did women's basketball back a few years ago. He was the same guy that did the JMU game in football this year.

So this isn't the same guy? Interesting.

I can't believe that I am the one to provide new information, but I know who the new announce is!

The morning DJ from Spirit FM radio, Dave ?, announced on air last week that he will become the new announce of football, men's and women's basketball.

He should be good.

Ditto on the our long time announcer, as well as Jerry Edwards. Having listened to these guys since middle school, they've been around the entire time that I have formed my interest in Liberty sports. I actually went to school with Jerry's son, Mark, and I have nothing but respect for Jerry and his family.
There are few high profile figures (in a public sense) that have stuck with Liberty sports for this long.
