Bevins tied the Big South single-game record with four field goals against VMI Saturday, and finished with a career-best 16 points against the Keydets. Bevins averaged 40.8 yards on his four field goals, as he hit from 42, 38, 40 and 43 yards, and is now just the second player in Big South history to make four field goals in a game twice in a career. He also was perfect on 4-of-4 PAT attempts. Bevins now ranks second nationally in field goals per game (1.89) and ninth nationally in scoring (9.22 points per game).

From the same page... who would have ever guessed we'd have multiple guys winning multiple STPOTW awards a couple years ago? I'm glad we've put such an emphasis on getting the right guys for special teams. Props to the holder, long snapper, and protection, as well.

I think he should be in line for All-American consideration. I mean its a shock when he misses a field goal of any length (which we couldnt say from about 04-06

Only 8 people in the FCS score more points per game than Matt Bevins. There are THREE TEAMS that score less per game than Matt (G'Town, InST, and Howard).

An accurate kicker with distance is a valuable asset for any team. Matt would give Liberty an advantage or keep it even in the kicking game against almost any team in FCS.

BJ, how about looking up some all-time kicking statistics with top 10 leaders for Liberty, the Big South & FCS.

Ill bet NGBGBGBG thinks the same way. If you ask them "Do you want an ice cream cone?" both of them would say yes.

HA. After watching Shaun Suisham FAIL on a 23-yd gimme on Sunday for the Redskins, it makes you realize: We ARE truly blessed to have Blevins.

Considering how our kicking game was before he got here, its monumental for us to have someone that gets that much recognition so you ought to be :clapping right along
