12 lives were lost and some wounded. We need to pray for the families of the victims and the shooter. Please pray for these soldiers

A solider suspected of fatally shooting 12 and wounding 31 at Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday is not dead as previously reported, Army Lt. Gen. Robert Cone said Thursday evening. ...
A graduate of Virginia Tech, Hasan is a psychiatrist who is licensed in Virginia and was practicing at Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, according to professional records. Previously, he worked at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Be praying for all those affected. The Central Texas hospitals are desperately trying to get blood donations because their supplies have been wiped out by the bloodbath.

Um, i dont think this is Va Tech's fault. Let's try not to bash them too much. They've been through an AWFUL LOT lately when it comes to things of this sort.

I will say though that when i was watching the news break on this i was sitting with a friend of mine in his office. Upon seeing that there were three people involved and the number of people dead or injured and that it was co-ordinated - i turned to him and said, you watch, islam is involved in this somehow. sure enough. the news reports 30 minutes later said he was a muslim.
Fox News - "The rampage was believed to be the deadliest at a U.S. military base in history. The exact motive wasn't clear, though Hasan, a Virginia native and a Muslim, reportedly was against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and had been the target of harassment for his ethnicity.

Federal law enforcement officials told the Associated Press that Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats. The officials said they are still trying to confirm that he was the author."

I wasn't blaming Tech. It is just a really strange coincidence given all of the recent tragic events there.

I was reading about this and the person credited with ending the massacre was a civilian police officer who exchanged gunfire with the shooter...any chance we could rethink the whole military bases as gun-free zones thing?

Why would you do that? I would feel safer on a military base any day than the south side of Chicago. I would wait until all of the facts come out before any changes to arms and their uses at military bases.

I think Matshark was referencing Shuk's post more than yours. It is really strange with everything that has taken place there.

I have no problem with concealed carry laws on military bases. Seems perfectly reasonable. If somebody had been packing at Fort Hood, this fool only gets to shoot maybe 5 people before he takes one to the chest. As opposed to 40. And if he had known that people were packing, he probably never shows up in the first place. Very simple way to avoid disasters such as yesterday.

Those are the same words spoken after the Lubys massacre years ago just a mile or so away from the Ft. Hood tragedy that got the concealed handgun movement rolling in Texas.
