We were talking in the FOC this morning and somehow the Liberty Football Fan Page came up in discussion. On that page, before every game, they put up a status that says, "Let us know where you're watching from today."

We went through the games this season and so far, people have checked in from 22 states along with two foreign countries (Iraq and Czech Republic).

Most schools have fans from their surrounding states watching and that's it. This shows how much of a national fan base we actually have.

That's great. It is a really good gauge, but probably does not reflect the true numbers. My guess is that there are alumni in all 50 states (or is that 57?) that have watched the football team play this year.

I'm on Facebook but rarely if ever go to fan pages.

Back when I was in school, Virginia was the top state for students at like 15% with NC, FL, TX, OH & PA not far behind. I get the impression that the student body these days tends to be more regional than national like it used to be back when Jerry was constantly in everyone's living rooms.

but your also starting to get alot of alumni babies. VA is still the dominant state, but I dont have any friends from VA. Point being Liberty is still a national draw for students.
