Anybody else anxious to see what it looks like when the teams runs out onto the field tonight under that new scoreboard?

I am so excited about this game Sly, that I had to take some melatonin to fall asleep tonight. I am going to buy some car flags, then heading to the stadium to tailgate.

I woke up at 5:00 to read Lang's article about the game. And I can't wait to strap the Flame flags back on the truck and do some tailgating!

ok, I changed my mind about the lettering at the top. It looks awesome lit up at night.

Also, in the picture of the future with the horseshoe, that is most definitely NOT the current field house underneath the bleachers. It is probably 10 yards away from the endzone which is enough for some bleachers (obviously since there were some there last year), but they would have to be at a ridiculously steep angle to clear the roof of the field house.

OR, they are going to start the seating higher in the horseshoe. I know that is not the way the picture shows the seating but thankfully the rendering of the scoreboard was not very accurate either :D

it might be nice if the seats are steeper. Husky stadium (U of Washington) is almost straight up and down, extremely steep, but you have no problem seeing over the people in front of you (sitting or standing, jumping or not)

Will some of you who have connections to the LU athletic website suggest a quick link to the stadium expansion news? I know you can scroll through all the "more headlines" and find the orginal article but may I suggest a link maybe on the picture on the right hand side of the main football page that would take you right to the artwork and/or story.

Not a huge deal but I can see where folks new to that site would have a hard time getting to the article and artists drawings.

It's also on the football page near the top right, but the image is not linkable like the one on the front page. Do you know anyone that can activate the hyperlink? :)

Despite the conclusions you've drawn, based on a now grossly inaccurate rendering (The plans for the press box and new deck in Phase One have already been changed.), the current field house WILL remain throughout all of the phases which are currently being discussed and planned within the context of both the immediate and distant futures.

so what does that mean? what's different from the picture?
no more 1,000 seat classroom in the tower? :(
is the upper deck bigger or smaller?
or are you currently unable to disclose these details?

Why when someone suggests change do you automatically assume that less is the result?

Have you heard of the term "cantilever" as it regards stadium enhancement?

Welcome to my world ;)
No kidding. I left before there was even one flipp'n Jeffersonian column on campus.
When I left campus they were just starting to fill in the ravine to build the Vines center. First time I ever saw it was when I flew into Lynchburg for my wedding.

yeah, JK is right

It was mentioned in conversation last season when the big man was showing off suites that the upper deck would be cantilevered out - I think I recall him saying 7 or 8 rows.

I could be off on that, but I'd think we'd be gaining a lot more seats than earlier suggested.

And several people already stated that rendering of the pressbox was off- its going from the 10 to the 10, I thought

You are right Medic. The press box will be from the 10-10 yd line and will also be 5 floors rather than the original 3.

Had a thought while taking my morning constitutional.

I need someone to:

A. mount a camera on top the FOC and link it online to stream construction of the new pressbox, et al

<or>

B. go up and point WSET's camera at Williams. Permanently. And zoom the thing in while you're at it.

Please have this done by Nov, thanks.

Seriously, didn't the Nat's do this for the stadium construction a couple years back?

Just a little over a week now. Any guesses on how long it will take for demolition?

Last I heard it's the Monday after the VMI game but I think that's changed. I don't know for sure. They're just bringing in a bulldozer. Nothing cool.

I seriously wanted them to implode it so I could stand on the other side of the stadium and watch. I knew it wouldn't happen but it'd be frickin awesome.
