Here's a breakdown on LU's wrestle offs for this evening:
133: TJ Mitchell vs Sean Katz --- great match-up. Sean (local Va guy) has alot of wins in his college career and looks to finish his Sr season with a bang. TJ, a product from NJ, re-shirted last year and has some very impressive performaces against ranked opponets as a true freshmen a year ago.
141: Scott Clymer vs Sam Walters - another very good match-up. Clymer, from PA, had an impressive year last season as a red shirt.
149: Frakie Gayeskie vs Joe Montgomery - Gayeskie, from NJ and transfered from "one of them PA colleges" looks to be a team leader. Frankie was also a placer at the Southern Scuffle last season.
157: Shaun Smith vs Thomas Cooper - Top tier wrestler, Shaun Smith, from WVa. has been mentioned in national rankings and was a NCAA qualifer (twice, I think).
165: Chad Porter vs Joseph Bayer - Bayer, local Va. kid, had an impressive finish last year placing at the end-of-year national tourney to claim "red-shirt AA" status. Porter, another team leader, won the WVA Open last year (while he red-shirted) and has also been mentioned in national rankings.
174: Brad Clark vs Nick Knowles - Great match up! This could be the bout of the evening - Clark is somewhat unorthodoxed and is very tough to finish on. Looking forward to this one!
184: Dave Zeigler vs Joseph Son - Another very good match-up. Both are hard workers and have improved tremendously.
197: Brandon Johnson vs Brandon Lawrence - a couple of very solid wrestlers - Johnson is extremely athletic and powerful. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that "Brandon" will win.
285: Josh Pellettier vs Andrew Wilson - Pellettier was the stater off and on last year with Pat Walker, but he had to overcome some injuries. Wilson had a great showing last year at the Regional (NCAA Qualifer) - losing in OT to the NCAA qualifier, Porter from G-Webb.
Exb: Miguel Rodriguez vs Logan Crawford - Get ready for sparks to fly! Both are explosive and fun to watch.
Special note --125- no match due to Childress having an minor injury that should be healed within the next couple of weeks. Pantaleo, the third LU grappler mentioned in national rankings, looks to start next weekend vs Campbellsville.
