I was told he was offered a great position at a high school in Parkersburg, WVa -- teaching and coaching.

It was an absolute pleasure to be associated with him (in the small way that I was) --- he was and is a wonderful mentor, coach, and teacher. He has a great deal to offer both college and HS aged wrestlers on and off the mat.

His son Cody trains with me at the gym. Good family. Definitely.

This is awesome news on many "fronts" ...

1- The fact that an institution is starting a wrestling program is great news for the sport. Wrestling is the fasting growing high school sport in the country. More colleges need to start programs to keep up with the demand.

2- The University made an outstanding selection in hiring Coach Sole. Great guy and we wish him the best!

I just moved in to the Parkersburg area about 2 years ago. Wrestling is really starting to take off here.

I knew LU had a connection with Parkersburg South but I'm trying to send some from PHS towards LU!

For those that don't know, Pat Sole was on the 1980 US Olympic Team. (VERY unfortunate that the US decided to boycott those games, but that tells you the quality of wrestler he is)
