Thank you for posting that here! Jeff B did a great job in presenting the upgrades and got some good input from all of the coaches that are directly affected. I am hoping that these upgrades will put LU on a higher level athletically and it should help greatly with the recruiting process.

just received a special edition of the Liberty Journal. It's got a list of all of the different rooms and items you can get named after you and how much they cost for the Vines, Williams, and the FOC. I had my wife guess how much a few different things would cost and based on that, these are a very good deal.

The entry lobby to the Vines would be $150k. Various other rooms range from $20k to $100k.

You can get the entire "Tower" at Williams for $750k. Or just a suite for $150k. The weight room for $150k. I think that one would be pretty cool.

And of course everybody's wondering how much the field would cost and it is the most expensive item. For a mere $1,000,000 the Flames could run out on "(Insert Your Name Here) Field at Williams Stadium."

I'm hoping there's some stipulations to safeguard us from having to play on something like "Dollar Tree Field". I imagine the tougher stuff to sell would be thing like the Assistant Strength Office for $10k. I think if I can afford that amount, they can keep that office name.

I'm really happy for Rocco, Layer, & Green because they are getting much nicer facilities, but I'm also feeling kind of bad for Storm. Is he getting anything more than a new sidewalk & parking lot for his coaches?

Major Expansion Plans Announced for Athletics
Wow- that's a big project and great vision for the school! I like the vision that Dr. Falwell had for it to become to Christians what ND is for Catholics and BYU to Mormons. God grant it!!!

BUMP

I noticed some small improvements to our stadium over the past couple of days. The visitor's locking room in the south end of the stadium is getting half columns installed and painted; also, JB is installing more flag poles in the south end of the stadium--maybe 2 or 3 more. I think that's where we are going to fly our Big South Champions flags. Lastly, the temporary bleachers on the student side are getting red fabric draped on them from the back, so you can see them from the road entering campus. Small details, but they all look great so far.

Also, the scoreboard looks like it was built when the building was built. They made that look really nice.

I remember they wanted to put brick along the bottom of the stands on the outside of the field. They said it was too expensive. The soccer field is getting sweet brick pillars to hold up a fence. Surely we can afford the wall now.

They're putting those all the way around the outside of the football stadium too.

I know this might sound picky, but I wish they could have gotten the "Liberty University" sign up over the score board. I mean they'll put it up sometime this year, but it would have been the cake on the icing to start the 2009 home schedule. But then again they may throw it up today before the game. They threw those flagpoles up in a few hours (Even though it looks like the front of the UN building), but whatever...
