I wanted to be one of the first people to welcome those of you who will be traveling to Morgantown here in a couple of weeks. I always get excited when new teams and fans get to experience Mountaineer Field for the first time.

For the most part I am going to echo parts of the tailgate guide posted below and give a couple more tips.

-Your best bet for parking is the WVU Coliseum. This is free parking and usually where visiting teams tailgate. The shuttle bus runs to the Blue Lot and is $3.50 per person round trip. It is also the fastest way out of town after the game if you like beating traffic. While you're at the Coliseum make sure to head inside and check things out. The legendary Jerry West played in the Coliseum when he was at WVU.

-Make sure to stop somewhere and pick up some pepperoni rolls. You should be able to find them at any gas station or super marker once you cross the state line. West Virginia is usually the only place where you can get them unless you make them at home.

-You should be in your seats at minimum 30 minutes prior to kickoff. The Pride of West Virginia, our Sudler Trophy winning 400 member marching band always puts on a great show that is absolutely not to be missed. ("Sometimes" the fans get more fired up for the band than the football team). :)

-The stadium is pretty straight forward. If you get to the stadium earlier than expected you can always visit the Brohard Hall of Traditions in the south endzone. Your seats will probably be in either section 100 or 99. If you want a food recommendation for the stadium I would go with a cheesesteak from Jersey's.

If you guys have anymore questions just ask and I'll be sure to get you an answer. Hope to see you in Motown September 5.

Thanks for the welcome. So I hardly know anything about your football program. What are some of your strengths and weaknesses?

We do have a bunch of question marks after losing some key contributors from 2008. So coolhandluke's remark has some validity.

I guess I would say that our strengths would be primarily around our seasoned defense and our sound coaching. Our greatest weakness would be the inexperience of much of our offensive skill position performers.

Had a roommate from WV whose mom made them. I echo this statement.

The local Krogers in Lynchburg sells pepperoni rolls (probably made by someone in the deli from WV). Seriously, I had two Italian friends in high school in WV, and both of their moms made pepperoni rolls: I thought it was an Italian thing, rather than something associated with my home state.

Yes, I recommend the ones with the cheese as opposed to the plain kind. Both are good, but the kind with the cheese is especially good.
