Here are a few pics that I took from the scrimmage this morning 8/15 and of the progress on the new scoreboard. I was told that they also replaced the small scoreboard behind the student section so that it would work electronically with the new big one.

Beecher looked good at qb, Brown looked better at receiver, Asa looked good down to 358 lbs. GO FLAMES!!! We'll be at every game since our freshman son will be marching with the band

Asa does look really good. When you get up beside him he almost looks like a different person. If he can get down another 10-15 pounds he'll be almost unstoppable. He's getting tougher and just developing as a player really well.

I got a chance to go check out the scrimmage yesterday, and I must say, I'm very excited to see how this team develops. There is a tremendous amount of talent on this team. I was impressed by the all around performance at the scrimmage. Defense looked solid, Offense seemed to be running on all cylinders, there were a couple of sparks from Special Teams, and even the kickers did a great job.

My two biggest concerns after last year were the running game and the receivers. Both looked good yesterday. Both Aldreakis and SirChauncey looked good yesterday, which makes me wonder if one of them will get a redshirt, since we also have good backs in BJ Hayes and Danny Broggin (Who looks like he's gotten bigger since last year). I don't believe I saw Chase Barnett out there yesterday, but I hear he's really good too. As far as the WRs are concerned, I was impressed at how far Chris Summers has come along and how he goes up after the ball. Freddy Brown also looked really good. It will be exciting to see those two guys lined up opposite of each other this fall to see how opposing teams will defend the passing game.

This is a REALLY GOOD team.

Rocco has said that Allen and Holloway will both play along with Hayes and Broggin in the backfield. He also was quoted by Lang as saying Demetrius Ward and Cory Freeman will both play as true freshman.
