King’s Fork seniors Josh LaVeist, left, seated, and Jeff Super, right, seated, have committed to Lincoln University and University of Virginia-Wise, respectively. LaVeist was primarily a wide receiver for the Bulldogs. Super was an offensive lineman and linebacker for King’s Fork, but was recruited to play middle linebacker by UVA-Wise.

Three more King’s Fork football players, Josh LaVeist, Jeff Super and Mike Mason, have made college decisions recently and will continue playing football at the next level.

Mason, a wide receiver/defensive back/kick returner, has committed to Liberty University. Mason will be the third Bulldog student-athlete to go on to a Division I program in the last three school years.
And a few more details ...
Mason wasn’t at the signing ceremony on Thursday afternoon with LaVeist and Super as he was in Lynchburg at an orientation program at Liberty. Mason was a second team All-Southeastern District receiver last fall.

Old Dominion added one last player to its incoming class Friday, signing defensive back Mike Mason from Suffolk's King's Fork High.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder closes out the Monarchs' recruiting class for 2009.

"Better late than never," said Mason's high school coach, Joe Jones. "I was afraid Mike might fall through the cracks. As it was, he was going to walk on at Liberty until this happened."
