Awesome, and with Josh McCown at #2 and Matt Moore at #3 he could crack the roster.

Easy there Rooster. Brock is a solid drop-back passer, but you're talking about a couple of proven NFL back-ups. McCown dominated at the I-AA level, and Matt Moore was the QB of an Oregon State team that won 10 games in a very tough Pac-10. So he's not going up against slouches here. He will have to really wow the Panthers to crack the roster, his best bet would be a shot at the practice squad. I wish him the best tho, he has all the tools to be a great QB. And I would say he should find himself a home in the UFL if the NFL doesn't sign him up.

Yes! Maybe Jake Delhomme will break both his ankles in the first game of the pre season so Brock can get a shot at the roster!

... so I guess you want Petyon Manning and Carson Palmer to back up Jake Delhomme? The point of a backup QB is that he's a re-tread, an experienced player. Man I'm glad you don't run my favorite team.

The important thing here is that Brock is getting a shot. If he makes the roster then I'll be singin the fight song from the monogram. If he doesnt then Im not gonna be too upset because at least he got a chance to show what he can do

Am I they only one who read that as "retards at best"? I thought, wow that was a mean thing to say.

TTL, actually you should check the backups around the league. I think you'll find your statement quite foolish. The entire Panthers QB situation is a joke. In case you havent watched, clearly the QB position has been what has killed the panthers. Delhomme is one of the worst starting qb's in the league, which can only logically mean that his backups are even worse than the league average. (if you cant remind think back to the playoff game against Arizona).

TTL this is for you since you think I mean Carson Palmer, or Peyton Manning!!!

to be on an nfl roster at backup qb, you should have a lot of potential or upside or be truly battle tested guy who is in the twilight of the career (jeff garica, Todd collins).

I think Brock fits into the first mold if he comes out and makes smart decisions

So the guy has one really bad game and an under par season and you are throwing him under the bus? I'll admit I was ticked that the panthers didn't let him go, but we'll see what he has left. And honestly Matt Moore is young and has a lot of upside and McCown is a proven vetern in the twilight of his career. So I don't get your point? Just because someone is sitting behind someone else on the bench doesn't mean they are automatically worse than the starter. Donovan McNabb is good but a few years ago when he got hurt Jeff Garcia came off the bench and did probably a better job with the team than McNabb was doing. So just because Matt Moore and Josh McCown are riding the bench behind Delhomme, doesn't mean they are worse than he is. Honestly I'd like to see what Matt Moore can do. He has a lot of potential. Unfortunately the ownership is in love with Delhomme...

But when he threw those six picks I was really angry. Ask Scar, TBGBG, SuperJon, and TTL. They were all there! haha. So I hope something happens this season to make the panthers go ahead and make a change at QB if Delhomme has a bad season.

First of all, I hope your not Serious when you say "Just because someone is sitting behind someone else on the bench doesn't mean they are automatically worse than the starter. Donovan McNabb is good but a few years ago when he got hurt Jeff Garcia came off the bench and did probably a better job with the team than McNabb was doing"

1.) if the backup is better than your starter (at any position) your coach should be fired, you play to win.
2.) Mcnabb is clearly a better QB than Jeff Garcia. Todd Collins got hot and led the skins at the end of 2007 to the playoffs. He is clearly not better than Jason Campbell in the long term.
3.) Delhomme has had 2 good streaks his entire career and the rest of the time he has been below average (not to mention his playoff chokes), despite having a top 3 WR and solid OL for most of his tenure. That position will hold the Panthers back as long as he is the starter just as the Redskins will never be a serious player until Campbell steps up or gets booted. A

My point is not to bash the panthers, they are just used to make the point that they have very weak QB play which means I think Brock has a legitmate shot of making the team if he performs well. I dont think Carolina is in love with any of backups on there roster enough to not give someone a fair shake. That being said he will have to earn the spot and out perform them.
Coaching changes

It appears your intel was on the mark.
