I am not sure, but I think they have to consist of a male and female in the traditional sense of marriage :)

Actually it is my understanding that the housing is for married students or grad students. My roomie in law school and I could've rented a place there last year (or 2 years ago...time has really flown) if we had wanted to, but it wasn't quite done yet when we wanted to move into a place so thats how we ended up in Boonsboro Village.

It's not just for married students. I know three families who live at Liberty Village. (none are students) Maybe the have some units for marrried students, but my friends have never heard of it.

It starts at $700 for a 1 bed 1 bathroom apartment. You can find way better deals in Lynchburg.

I know you can. I own a house that I rent out to people for just 200 a month a person. My bride to be and I dont need a 5 bedroom house when we get married, and wed like to just have a nicer place to live in if we stay in lynchburg.

You pay for quality. That's how it is anywhere. Of course you can find things cheaper than that. You get what you pay for. Cheaper isn't always better. Then again, you're one of the cheapest people I've ever come across.

I get quality with what I buy. Like this Dell laptop, got a quality one and only payed 700 bucks for it. The price of the same specs from other manufacturers at the time of purchase was close to $1000 or more.

My friend that goes to Penn vet school has a reasonably nice apartment, according to her statements and others I have heard when I visited, within walking distance of Penn with 2 bedrooms and only pays $500 for it. And that's in Philadelphia.

My brother rents an entire townhouse in Forest for only $800, I believe.

You're showing how much you don't know. Rent for a house and rent for an apartment are always going to be different. Rent for a house and rent for a townhome are always going to be different. You cannot compare the two.

One I've heard many recommend is Willowbrook. It's located just off Timberlake Road. Several folks I know at LC live there and highly recommend it. I don't know if this is in your price range or not, but the prices are: 1 bedroom/1 bath is $625, 2 bedroom/2 bath is $725, 3 bedroom/2bath is $825. Still on the highside, but they offer a bunch of extra ammenities provided from the very beginning that a lot of other places don't have - such as washers and dryers in the room, a refridgerator, microwave, ceiling fans, and a dish washer. all that is included, not just the connections for them, but the actual hardware itself is provided as well apparently. they also apparently provide 24hour emergency maintenance and high speed internet at no extra cost, so you won't have to fork out the $30-40+ a month for that.

http://www.tomlinproperty.com/tomlin - Brief description of Willowbrook - I can't directly link to the Willowbrook one, so you'll have to make sure to click on willowbrook.
http://www.tomlinproperty.com/tomlin3 - floor plans for willowbrook - have to click next to see the different ones

I visited someone over there back in April I believe, they had one of the 3 bedroom ones and I have to say it was pretty nice. I was surprised when he told me it was only $825 a month, I figured it would have been in the 900-1000 or more range.

The point is that you can get a quality abode at a better deal than 700 for just one bedroom and bath...

Another note on Willowbrook, they also have a pool, sauna, outdoor jacuzzi, dance/exercise studio, and a fitness center.

If you're interested in it, I can get you contact information for one of the people I know that lives there, if they agree to that, of course.

Willowbrook is legit. It's almost worth not buying a house to live there. In addition to those things you listed, they have one of those small pools where you swim "in place" against a current and they just opened a lazy river around a kiddie pool. A LAZY RIVER. That is awesome.

A lot comes back to those 3 most important words in Real Estate. $700/mth for a 1 bedroom at Liberty Village may be high if you go to LC or work downtown, but if you are going to LU, the convience will make it worthwhile for a target group who can afford it.

Hmm, I wonder what the guest policy on that is, I'll have to ask my friend that lives there. That is freaking sweet.

And some people would rather pay for a yard than a lazy river.

who wants to live at Williowbrook when you can live at Korean Nation aka The Vistas

I visited Willowbrook my first year at LU but they only had one of the apt buildings built but showed me the plans but it was years down the road. I lived at the Vistas which at the time was the WB of today. It was awesome, all LU students (and a ton of Koreans) it was like living in a off campus dorm....it was pretty cool

Also, somethings are more important to married people then others. Lazy river, sweet for singles, where as for a married couple, yeah it's fun but it loses it's luster, and since I would rarely use it. Hopefully we will be moving up to new England area next summer after the wedding but if not it will most likely be liberty village for me
