With TAMU-CC and BSC both leaving next year, that leaves the conference with only 5 schools playing softball (CSU, CCU, RU, LU, WU)...is that enough for an auto-bid, and if not, what schools should be added to retain the bid? Longwood does come to mind...any others?

Will not GWC be a full member in 08? That will leave the conference with the auto bid, I believe.

I heard rumor that the Big South may be allowing G-W to joini n softball a year ahead of their other sports because of the unusual circumstances of Birmingham-Southern's step down. Whether ot not that was ever worked out, I have no idea.
