If it were just basic copy and pasting of text, I would agree with you. I find neither the way it's done nor plain copy and past to be all that impressive.
However, if you'd read AND comprehended my original statement like you said you did, you'd see that I was pointing out the copy/paste function on the iPhone is fairly innovative for the way it copies HTML. If you go to a website and highlight a particular division (that is, a section inside of a set of DIV html tags), the iPhone will copy the entire thing. Not just the text. The formatting, the pictures, the associated files...everything. You can then paste that right into an email and it works. It's not all jumbly and malformed. It actually works.
Sure, you can do that on a Mac and Windows tries to do it well. But on a phone? On the iPhone, yes.
