One of the unique things about Liberty is its communication and connection to people across the nation.
When we say, "Kallie plays for Liberty University," most people say, "I've seen that school on TV." Others will say, "My parents or grandparents get a magazine every month from Liberty." In marketing terms that is called "Brand Recognition" and it is hard earned.
When the team played at Nebraska, Vadim and I had people (before the game) coming up to us to compliment the school - they appreciated what LU stood for and wanted to welcome and connect with us (yes, in every case they were Christians). After the game even more people searched us out, but it was to give compliments to the team - the Nebraska fans appreciated the high level of play, and the sportsmanship (no, based on their colorful language I would say most were not watching the Liberty cable channel, but they respected our girls and coach, and as a result wanted to know about Liberty).
Very few state schools have the ability to reach out and connect like Liberty does... I think it's great!
