Not OUR medic, but I do wonder where PAmedic stands on this issue (video link below).
OKLAHOMA CITY (CBS/AP) In Oklahoma, a trip to the hospital turned into a fight between a police officer and an ambulance paramedic as a sick woman waited in the ambulance. Now two new videos, one released by the son of the sick woman, and another taken from the officer's dashboard cam have brought new focus on what really took place.

I'd love to see Medic's reation. I'd guess that the officers are lucky that the woman wasn't in her death throes- though I'd guess that if she was, the medics wouldn't have bothered to stop. Since it appears that the officer isn't charging the medic with some type of resisting, I wonder if they are just going to chalk this up to a bad day at the office.

yeah.... not good.

As a medic- I wouldn't have pulled over with a patient in the back. Meet me at the hospital if you wanna talk.

As a cop- if you get in my face and don't comply with a direct order ("get back in that ambulance right now") it's probably gonna escalate.

Overall: I thought the medic (black guy) did a good job of maintaining his demeanor. Seems like the cop went a little far with the whole thing. (There may have been some underlying issues between PD and EMS that we don't know about, though)

One mistake though- don't resist when we go to cuff you up. Then it's on. Doesn't matter if the charge itself seems bogus- if we go to hook you up just roll with it and sort it out later. Even passive resistance ratchets up the level on the use of force continuum and likely will get you tazed.

I noticed that the medic resisted not one, but two troopers... and he got away and got back in the ambulance. Very strange story, indeed. I'm betting that the son of the patient is the one who made this all public, because the whole sitiuation HAD ended with a written warning for the driver of the ambulance. As you mentioned, it seems like there could be more to the relationship between these public servants than meets the eye.
