John Calipari represents all that is wrong with college athletics. His win at all costs will end up costing up to four kids their dreams. But instead of legislating this travesty, the NCAA would rather focus on text messaging. Or the hard core things like restricting the amount of money a kid can make during the SUMMER.
Why isn’t this news? The Four-Letter network won’t talk about this because….well, who cares about the 10th man on a basketball team. Jason Whitlock won’t write about it because it’s not polarizing enough. But as a college basketball fan and a fan of young, impressionable kids…..this writer will.

If this guy would do research, which he clearly never made a single attempt to do so, he'd realize that he is adamantly wrong in his statement that "His win at all costs will end up costing up to four kids their dreams":
Donald Williams - was only going to be given a guaranteed scholarship for one year when BCG brought him in, he'd ahve to earn his scholarship this year. Most likely to transfer anyways. Either way, he's taking himself off the team, that leaves it at 16
AJ Stewart - very likely to transfer regardless of who is coaching and rather he has his scholarship pulled. Even if he doesn't transfer, his grades might not even be good enough for him to be eligible. Either way, he's taking himself off the team and that leaves 15.
DeAndre Liggins - Not likely to make the grades to be eligible from what I'm hearing, so his scholarship would not be renewed, thus eliminating himself from the process. That leaves 14.
Seniors - Calipari has told every single senior that if they want to be on the team, they will be on the team. So seniors won't have to be concerned about having their scholarship yanked for their final year, another indication this man did absolutely no homework before writing this diatribe.
So what does that mean? Only one guy will lose their scholarship (that's if Meeks comes back), and there are several players on the team that can get a full academic scholarship. So how is that breaking the hearts of 4 players, my research shows only ? Only one player is possibly going to lose their scholarship due to the incoming talent. One player, that's less than Tubby Smith did at Minnesota this spring, pulling the scholarships of two players. Where's his rant on Tubby?
Besides, if you can play at Kentucky, you can get a bball scholarship somewhere else. I'm sure Big South teams would love to have a kid that was good enough to get a scholarship at Kentucky.
