We're a great fit for him. We'll have him playing in the ACC in as little as 1 year!

Nice catch Schfourteen. I'm pretty sure SCAR knows this kid. Maybe he can give us some more info on him. If I'm not mistaken, this will be our first "second generation" player in MBB.

If he signs, I have to think Stephene is gone.

He also had scholarship offers from Butler and Kent State.

I'm really excited that Evan is coming, but I hope nobody is expecting him to be Eric, or even a "poor man's" Eric. I'll be happy if he can be a solid backup for Jesse at the point the next couple of years, and maybe a starter as a Senior.

NOT funnny. :nono :furious :fight

Gordon is ranked #80, which is the highest recruit that Layer has signed (#76 Vander Pol was signed by McKay). And Layer's incoming class is much more balanced, with one player for each position:

PG--Gordon
SG--Perez
SF--Konan
PF--Burrus
C--Vander Pol

This gives us 14 scholarship players. Someone will be leaving. If it's not Stephene, I guess it would most likely be Austin, but I don't think Northern Arizona worked out for him (at least not as far as a scholarship is concerned).

I know this kid isn't as good as his brother, but what are we looking at? A project? Contributor from day one? Starter from day one? Someone who could grow into a contributor? I know nothing about him.

I may be a little off on this comment but with the ratings of these players is this class just as good if not a bit better than last years?

One article I read stated Xavier was his top choice until their coach left.

I think he'll turn out to be more than a "complimentary" player, but we'll see.

Yeah that class last year really turned out to be a dandy:

Seth Curry: most productive freshman year in school history, transferred after one season
Brolin Floyd: transferred after one inconsistent season
Bill Weaver: verdict is still out on him
Austin Smith: not much, probably gone after 1 season
Carter: verdict is still out on him
Jesse Sanders: thank God he's staying

Who's ratings were those you quoted CJ? I can't imagine either Evan or JVP are top 80 players nationally.

Liberty has a commitment from a talented scorer in Evan Gordon. Though he's more comfortable as a 2-guard, Gordon can also play some minutes at the point in a pinch. He will have to improve his decision-making with the ball in his hands, though.

"He really does damage at shooting guard, using his good quickness and decent strength to blow by defenders on his way to the basket," Williams continued. "Gordon can connect on jumpers with range that extends out to the 3-point line, but he needs to continue to work on his consistency from distance. He can also score using the mid-range pull-up jumper.

"Gordon's scoring ability should allow him to see time rather soon at Liberty."

So with this addition, along with the other guys, it looks like we're bring in a lot of slashers instead of shooters. I don't mind that at all, just thought it was interesting the difference in recruiting styles.
