I've had this argument since about Midnight tonight and I wanna know what everyone thinks. Who is the best player in the NBA right now? and do you think they will someday if not already be better than Michael Jordon.

My vote goes to Lebron. By far better than Kobe and is looking like he'll be better than MJ one day if not already.

Can Someone make me a sig that says "Where the Real MVP happens" with Lebron James' face instead of Kobe?

It's about as basic and simple as basic and simple can be and can be duplicated in any way in five minutes:

lets just say this

Lebron had a better overall game in terms of stats

Kobe got 61 by taking jumpers and hitting free throws (he played 10 minutes less)

both great games like you said, played in two totally different styles and game plans

Lebron was gunning for the 61 and he failed

Lebron may have had the better statistical game when you look at the basic stats but Kobe had a better +/- , less minutes, better accuracy

but if Lebron's game is still looked at as statistically better because of rebounds/assist (which Kobe couldn't get because of Pau/Gasol getting 30 rebs, and being in the triangle offense everybody gets AST)

I can understand that Lebron would have better numbers in most peoples eyes

but like I said, you can say Lebron had a better game but fact is he did not "beat" anyone in anything , except for the Knicks team and giving them another L

Kobe is better because LeBron can never do this.

I don't know if you guys read Bill Simmons on ESPN (don't hijack the thread if you love / hate him), but he has an interesting take... LeBron saw Kobe's work ethic during the 2008 Olympics and felt the need to step it up. If it weren't for Kobe being Kobe, LeBron wouldn't be LeBron.

That being said... Kobe is maybe 90% of the player he was, say, two years ago. He has a lot of mileage on his legs. LeBron is still young, arguably better, and most certainly hasn't hit his peak.

THAT being said... Cavs / Lakers is going to be one of the greatest NBA finals of all-time... (Magic / Nuggets? Not so much).

Here's a question...

Could LeBron James start for the Cleveland Browns?

LeBron is 6-8, 250 -- which means he'd probably be a TE (for comparison's sake, former Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez is 6-5, 250)

Would it matter? I mean weve seen he has sick hands and i can't get over how quickly he gets from one end of the floor to another. I know he has long strides but sometimes i just can't believe how quickly he closes. Id love to know what his 40 time is right now?

LeBron verbally committed to play WR at Ohio State once upon a time.

I don't think there is any question LeBron is athletic enough to play WR. He also is probably strong enough to be a good blocking TE (especially if he beefed up to about 280, which you would think he could do pretty easily). I'm not sure he would be all that excited about the contact at TE though. Having him split out would take him away from most physical contact with linebackers, and it would be a huge size mismatch for DBs. Imagine a much stronger and more athletic version of Harold Carmichael, who was a pro-bowl WR at 6'8" back in the day.

LeBron - Kobe is selfish, case in point last night in the fourth quarter, Kobe took virtually every single shot and a lot of them were just terrible.

LeBrick took some terrible shots at the end of game 3, including a terrible air-ball three.

It's a tie. Neither team would be where they are without Kobe or LJ. Kobe is the only reason the Lakers are hanging with the Nuggets right now. He is money in the clutch, and any other time.

Kobe is only selfish when his team needs him to take over a game

thats funny cause last time i checked any post player for LA should be a complete mismatch for anyone down low for the Nuggets. I mean come on the Bird Man is good, but Gasol should be able to score in bunches at anytime.

I think with Nene, K-Mart and even Chris Andersen are just physical enough to make Pau uncomfortable down there. Bynum should be able to score whenever he wants with his high-arching shot.

If Gasol and Odom would stop sleepwalking and be somewhat aggressive with the ball, this series would be over. Gasol's taken something like 10 shots a game? Kobe's shooting too much because no one else will.

ANd I'm sure Kobe jacking up a highly contested 27 foot three pointer with 10 seconds on the shot clock after dribbling in the same place for 8 seconds is exactly what Phil Jackson is looking for

Personally I think both have their strong points. I know the question is who is better but I have a respect for both of them and their individual skill sets. Id love to have Lebron's size and athleticism and Kobe's closing ability.
