anyone use their products?

the originator was a minister and the products seem legit but can be pricy.

good friends of ours started hawking this crap and i reluctantly came over...

i did a bunch of research pre this because he is my buddy i figured this would be the time to tell him to get out if it had bad vibes.

but everything seemed ok, i've never been involved in a mlm so i really didn't know what to look for. My wife does Stampin Up but its more for something for her to do and she has gotten so many other women we know involved with doing little or no pushing (a few guys know my wife and how she's is not that person) and is very successful at it but could care less if she meets quotas or not and the quota's are very minimal at best...and her upline lady is super nice and really just lets her do whatever.

anyway, back to advocare.

So they come and half the spiel is about becoming a reseller if this stuff and i quickly tell him. "look, for starters i sell at my job now for 45-50 hours a day. i don't want to do anymore, and 2nd. i hate fitness and health crap so why in the world would i want to sell it. there is no chance in hell that we will become a distributor for you."

so then they show us the products and i've already done my research i know whats what for the most part.

my wife is looking to lose weight and get some more energy. i thought about just getting an herbal cleanse and seeing if it worked...

so we picked up 2 herbal cleanses, they were trying to sell us some Catalyst stuff which is just basic amino acids...i whipped out a jar twice the size as theirs that was 5 bucks less that is basically the same exact thing....they were like "rreeeeallly?"

and my wife got a tub of spark. some energy drink powder which was reasonably priced.

anyway, we'll see how this cleanse crap works. i will say that:

spark drink > 5 hour energy > amp

in the end we spent 100 bucks my wife is happy at the moment and i've pooped 3 times today.

Rule of thumb: half of anything with the word "herbal" on it is probably liquefied sawdust.

absolutely....

we have a good friend who's father owns a health food store and she likes a few of the advocare products but also got me alist of things that are basically the same thing...but like a 1/4 of the cost.

Why do people get involved in this stuff? It's not about how good the product is or how much money you can make. It's all about the fact that you have to push this stuff on your friends and family because that's how it's designed. Everyone will avoid you until you give up on it, and then they will resent you for having done that in the first place.

well the thing with these people is that he's a terrible speaker and he bumbles through things but he's a nice guy....he kept calling it avrocare...it was hilarious.

buy yeah he's trying to get everyone in the church involved...he is like a different person....not pushy, at all though but persistant.

i've known him since we were in gradeschool.

he's missions oriented and since they have other jobs, the money they make goes to pay for their product and they fund missionaries with the rest....our church supported missionaries....hes a good guy.

So why not just write a check to the guy's missions fund?

I've seen pictures of what you cook and eat. No herb on earth can help you now.

Yeah.....i actually just wanted to post the picture gallery.

Also, from talking to doctors & reading about it, I've heard that the problem with cleansing is that it also removes the helpful bacteria and people do not replace them........thus creating a bigger problem.

I do not know of anything positive or negative about Advocare. However, you would be best NOT to get involved. Herbs are unregulated drugs. But that is another issue altogether.

If you still wish to purchase these herbs or become a reseller, then you should speak with several physicians and pharmacists about the effects these herbs may have on the body. Be careful how you ask the questions. They are not there to give you business advice.

If you still wish to get involved with Advocare, then get as much information from the company without paying it. Take the information to you local Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, or The Federal Trade Commission and see what they have to say. If that is to much trouble for you, then my original advice stands. DO NOT GET involved.
