The guy has played in five stroke play events and placed in the top 10 in all of them. Yeah, he didn't win the Masters or the Players Championship, but those are courses that have given him problems in the last few years (he's only won once at Augusta in his last seven chances, and he has not finished in the top 10 in the Players' since 2001).
The problem right now is the new swing, which may have been employed because previous ones put too much strain on his knee. I don't know. He's barely hitting 56% of the fairways, which is a problem because it's making his second shots that much more difficult (and subsequently, third shots - he's only getting GIR's 63% of the time).
He's still better than everyone else when he's in a situation where he missed the fairway, because he plays smarter than everyone else. Eventually, this will correct itself. People think that Tiger Woods broke onto the scene and has played at a high level ever since, but the guy has reinvented himself and his game so many times during his career.
If you look at the driver he used at the beginning of his career, it's laughable. He had to change clubs, change swings, and when he did, he started kicking butt again. The same thing will happen -- especially because there really is no one who can take the mantle away from him.
