Hello - I am the parent of a Coastal Carolina baseball player.

I have known Jeff Taylor for many years and considered him a close friend. He was a big fan of Coastal Carolina (when not playing Liberty) and he knew Coach Gilmore from high school. I called Coach Gilmore this afternoon and let him know of the terrible news. Needless to say, he was shocked. I think they are going to try and honor Jeff in some manner before Friday's Coastal-Liberty game. It would be wonderful if ESPN could mention it as I am sure it would mean a lot to the family.

RIP Jeff  May God Bless Mary Clare and Jeff Jr.

Very sad news. My thoughts and prayers go out for him and also for his family.

An endowed scholarship is a great tribute to a person's memory. When my father passed away, a scholarship was created in his memory at WU. I know circumstances will be different, but if those looking to create the scholarship need any info or want an account of what happened in my case, just send me a pm. I'd be happy to share.

I did not realize who it was until I saw his picture earlier today. My heart breaks for his son, what a tragedy. May the God of all comfort wrap his loving arms around his son and wife during this very difficult time.

Does anyone know if Medic has heard about Fumble's death? I think Medic spoke in one of Fumble's classes years ago, and I'm sure he would want to know, if anyone has his contact information.

I'm posting with tears in my eyes and thats a first.

I really don't even know what to say.

my heart breaks for his poor son- man, does he love that kid.

Cider's right -he brought me in for a guest lecture spot. Within 5 minutes I felt like I'd known him forever.

I bet everyone that ever met him will tell you that. What a fantastic guy.

FUMBLE, I'll see you again someday brother.

(Photo taken by Jeff: me speaking to his class- thanks again for the opportunity brother, I'm sorry I procrastinated getting back down there)

I have known Jeff since day 1 at LU. WOW. He too, brought me in to guest lecture in his class and it was always a wonderful time. A great man, a terrific father, and a caring prof. Who cares if he was vertically challenged?

Jeff was always emailing me stuff about Liberty and especially about his son. Lots of the links on this site to mine was posted by him and I really appreciated what he did for me. I had never had the chance to actually meet him in person but he was always there to talk to about colelge baseball when I wanted something. He was a great guy from what you guys have said.

though I know Jeff would get a huge kick outta that- no.

I'll try to look presentable though. I seriously thought about my ff.com T-shirt with my suit. He'll love that, right?
