If you Haven't heard Beecher is coming to LU football. He will be the starting QB so where does this put mike brown? Wr/RB or both.

Beecher will compete for the starting quarterback job. In no way is he "the starter" at this point in time.

well it is like a 75% possability that he is the starter. Landis was so ticked when he heard beecher was coming. Why would this be? because he knows that beecher will start and he won't be able to start his senior year, when he should of been playing infront of Brock.

You just lost all credibility on this board with this post. There are so many things that are wrong that it's funny.

Beecher has a few things working against him.

-- Didn't play in spring ball, where Mike Brown did
-- Mike Brown already named a captain
-- Won't get to participate in any official team practices until the start of camp

It's conceivable that Beecher could come in and just blow everyone away, but to think Brown is just going to lie down and not battle for the job is shaky. Tough to put a percentage on a guy who hasn't done anything with the team but read a playbook.

So they'll tell me that Spencer should've been starting over Brock?

Awesome. I'll go ask any of the players from last year like you suggested, and you ask Danny Rocco, the head coach of LU football. We'll compare notes after.

Just because you knew a guy who knew a guy who walked on who told you Landis was a better quarterback doesn't exactly make you an insider.

No, all coaching decisions are made on on the sideline utilising a blindfold and a portable dartboard.

Oh wait, I forgot. Karcher's gone. Never mind.

Ok, am I TOTALLY missing the boat on this one?? Tommy Beecher played 2 games at QB last year at USC, correct? From what I read on the school's website, he was a holder in 2007 and played 3 games at QB in both 2007 and 2006. So a total of 8 games and his stats are 30 of 51 passing attempts for 320 yards and 5 interceptions. I'm not sure about his rushing yards, but IMHO, I don't really see these stats as being a "shoe in" for the starting role this fall. But then again, I've never actually SEEN him play before :?

Isn't that the way it should be?? I think it says more about an individual who is elected by their peers for their character/leadership abilities than if the coaches just arbitrarily pick a couple of guys that they like...

I don't think anybody is laughing at the prospect of Beecher starting or Landis starting. The comment about Landis starting over Brock is where the yuks come from.
Coaching changes

It appears your intel was on the mark.
