Adjective, actually - modifying the noun 'coach.' There are no adverbs in your alleged JFjr. quote. Just sayin'...

And your testicle line made me laugh. Hard. Seriously, I woke the wife. (FAIL!)

That being said.....HMO, let's not get carried away. This whole episode is a shining example of why WU is so many light years ahead of any other program in the league.

I would like Dale Layer, as well. In fact...that was my first thought when one of my students texted me with the news about RMK.

Personally I think we should just forget having any coaches at all and just let Jesse coach the guys!

I would like someone who sported a record better than 31-71 in conference play.

He was in a pretty solid conference in a tough situation. Colorado State isn't exactly an athletics dreamland. Being "the other school" in Colorado does them no favors. And I think a lot of us know Dale to be a good coach based more on his time here rather than his time elsewhere, although he has always been a good recruiter.

Light years??? You know the speed of light right? If you think Winthrop is light years ahead of anyone then I need some of that koolaid on a day like this.

You guys are obviously freshmen. Or new fans.

I think we cut ties from anyone with the McKay regime and start anew.

And cut ties from all our recruits?

Good luck.

I would like to see Liberty consistently finish in front of Winthrop before proclaiming LU to be 'light years' ahead of them. LU had one good year, Winthrop had one bad year. LU lost its best scorers and its recruiting class is in flux. Winthrop has a young team and is getting a fine shooting guard.

(Liberty graduate. Long-time fan).

I'm torn. Do we want to go with Layer or Soucie to keep as much continuity as possible? Or do we want a fresh face?

At this point, I don't know.

According to Chris' article this morning, Soucie is interim HC and would be a great hire:
Lead assistant Brad Soucie, who was named the team’s interim head coach Wednesday, described the players’ reaction to the news.

“(McKay) has had a lot of passion for this job and for our players, with the way he’s mentored and led them,” Soucie said. “So there’s a lot of disappointment and frustration.”

Soucie, who has been with McKay at each of his head coaching stops, said he plans to apply for the open post at Liberty.

McKay said Soucie would be a great candidate for the position.

“Brad would be a

tremendous hire for the men’s basketball program,” McKay said. “He’s be an excellent coach. He helped us to get where we are. It’s just a matter of moving over eight inches to another chair and being the guy who’s calling the plays.”

My understanding is he still remains a candidate. Obviously if anyone else gets the gig then he won't be here.

You just quoted a quote from Lang's article that said Soucie is the interim coach and RMK thinks he should get the job and followed it up by saying he was going with RMK. which is it????

Here is an article that gives an interesting perspective of what Barber is about to fly in to.

http://www.thetimesherald.com/article/2 ... /904020315
The craze for college basketball is not limited to scores of local people getting in the mood for college basketball's signature weekend.

For the young college coach, a job search entails rubbing elbows with coaches this weekend at the NCAA Final Four at Ford Field in Detroit.

No matter what the article says - I have heard that he is going to UVA to be on Bennett's staff. I guess he could of changed his mind, but my guess is he knew barber would not bring him as head coach.
