We definitely had our hands full in this one. Louisville has been hovering near the top 10 most of the year and they finished second to UCONN in the Big East tourney.

I think Louisville came in with a good plan. They exposed LU's menace which is turning the ball over. You can work on breaking the press in practice, but when you practice it with 5 LU non starters in comparison to Louisville's top 7....there is none.

Louisville wanted to make Megan earn her points and they did.

Hats off to Louisville.

A great season by the women. Nothing to be ashamed about. They made it to the NCAA's...let's repeat that again next year.

I definately agree. With what the Womens hoops team has been through this season with so many injuries and all things fell in place and we had a typical LU season which we have accustomed to having all of these years thanks to Cary Green. I guess I underestimated Louisville completely in that I thought that it would be a potential win for us. I was hoping for a repeat of the "Sweet Sixteen" performance of a few years back but it was not in the cards.

I think that the Big South rankings this year really hurt our chance to get a higher seeding and play a lesser team than Louisville.
This conference is really putting up a serious road block to LU's womens hoops team in our ability to bring top notch talent (such as Megan) to LU and is really hurting our seedings in the tournament. I just hope that we can keep Cary Green around and he doesn't leave due to the frustration of the feeling that he has taken LU as far as it can go. We will see.

Coach Green has done an excellent job here, and I believe will continue to do an excellent job. If everyone had stayed healthy, it wouldn't have mattered what the rest of the Big South had done, we would've been in a much better position to get that win over Auburn and/or Vandy and probably not have lost to Hartford or South Alabama, which would automatically improve our seeding.

I don't disagree with anything Stevev said, but I feel compelled to add that what Lousville did to us was not totally a result of a mismatch in talent or level of play resulting from our poor seeding. It just happened that we were matched with an opponent perfectly suited to fully expose what has been a weakness of LU WBB teams going back way beyond this season.

We simply turn the ball over way too much. 27 turnovers against a Louisville team known for it's agressive pressing defense is bad, and obviously hurt us. Louisville had the talent to capitalize on them. The fact is however that we have turned the ball over that many times against pitiful BSC opponents this season. In conference, our huge advantage inside was enough to make up for it.

Our team has size, and they rebound like crazy. Our team usually plays solid defense. Offensive structure and individual ball handling and passing skills have been and continue to be a weakness. As much as I love Cary Green and respect and appreciate what he has done with our WBB program, unless this changes another sweet 16 run is not in the cards any time soon.

Good season on the whole especially with all the injuries. After I saw the pairing Monday night I knew we were facing a steep up hill challenge.

Congrats to all the seniors on a solid career. If it wasn't for the injury bug this year, I think we would have gotten a first round upset this year.

As for the turnovers, Coach Green knows this is and has been a major weakness of ours for years. We've always had the frontcourt play needed to compete at the highest level, but have lacked the guard play. The sweet 16 run, we had Daina, Krystal, and two freshman in Allyson and Courtney who were solid enough for us to be able to pull a couple nice wins. Last night Mays did a decent enough job to keep us in the game as she played 37 minutes and had just 4 turnovers. That's not a bad stat line for a PG going up against that type of pressure all night. We just need a 2nd or 3rd guard to be able to help alleviate some of the pressure put on her. Rachel Hammond and McLoud are good ball players, but their strength is definitely not ball handling.

Hopefully with Mays next year and Lakendra Washington our guard play will be much improved.

I was impressed with both Warley's and Beecher's play last night.

I would be happy if I was to never see another cross court pass in my lifetime....wow...that was frustrating

Great season, as I've said before I think this was one of CG's best coaching jobs this year

I think that was an excellent assessment manson. By all reports, Washington may be just what we need in terms of a second ball handler. Hope so.

The other thing our sweet 16 team had going for it is something we probably won't be blessed to see again. Anytime we were in a bind, either bringing the ball up against pressure or with the shot clock running down in the halfcourt offense, there was always "option K". THROW IT HIGH TO KATIE!

Hats off to the Lady Flames!!! I have to admit, though, we could not get anything rolling, and you are right about the "exposing our weaknesses" part. I just wanted us to win a national championship! (Like that would happen, but......)

Louisville just beat Baylor by 17 to advance to the regional final. I really hope they make the final 4.

I agree. Injuries do hurt, and wins over top 25 teams does make your resume even better. If we were only healthy earlier............

I thought that was really suprising. UL didn't look like they could do squat in the first half. However, I don't like either team, but it's hard for me to pull for a team that beat Liberty, so I am going for UCONN!

I feel exactly the opposite. If we get knocked out in the first round, I'd like it to be by the eventual national champions. Runner up is not bad though. We were as competitive against them as several of the high profile teams they beat on their way to this final.

Why do you keep on posting on old threads? Everything that you are saying on all of these old threads is completely pointless and doesn't even make sense. If you are going to post on here, please have something actually important to say from now on...
