i was just about to say how has no one said FACS.

And for what its worth, any day Im feeling depressed, I walk through the fine arts hall and feel better, because at least im not throwing away thousands of dollars on a worthless major. If you want to be a good musicion, practice, take lessons. Dont get a degree in it. I will never let my child be a Performing arts major. I will pull them out of college if thats their choice

There's no way Business is one of the hardest, no matter which concentration you choose. What makes Nursing so hard is the hours you have to put into it. Not only do you have to learn all the pre-med stuff, but you also have to work long hours at the hospital for no pay, and LU is one of the tougher nursing programs you can find.

For easiest I'd say FACS or Psyc. (I've noticed nobody is touching Youth, not that I'm saying...)
Hardest would be Math or one of the Engineering programs.

I would tell them to have a double major in something else that isnt so ridiculous.

Math is really hard. Most majors you can study enough to get through them. Not Math. Not saying its the toughest but from comparing what Ive seen its up there.

Youth, FACS, Psyc, SMGT are all in the same boat. Want to graduate? Choose one of these. Although SMGT apparently is getting harder and is awful with Zealand. The work load and required knowledge in his classes are similar if not greater than 300 level Business courses.

i forgot....a good friend of my wifes family was like a praise and worship major or something like that....that HAS to be the easiest...

business, i won't lie, was easy....beyond 2 classes that really werne't that hard (just alot of work) it was a cake walk....there were 6 of us, we shared 3 books for each class and 1/2 of us never went regularly and we all still dominated...

we even dominated policy, even after i slept through our presentation day..

I guess im going more in terms of hardest major and hardest job as oppose to easiest major and easiest job. But im sure there are some hard majors that have easy jobs and easy majors that have hard jobs.

And is it easiest in terms of assignments? Because yeah while certain classes in majors dont have alot of assignments, they still require you to do alot of learning, not just crapping out assignments. Like Psyc may not have too many assignments in certain classes, you have to actually learn stuff, and from my understanding, Business has alot of work to do, but its not a whole lot of stuff that "if you dont learn this and understand it you wont be as effective in your job"

Nursing is ridiculous, it has to be amongst the most difficult majors at all schools. In a lot of nursing programs, not only do you have to learn all the medical stuff, work ridiculous hours (often during the middle of the night) at hospitals, but nowadays you also have to learn cultural stuff so you can best communicate with patients from foreign countries. Lord knows a hospital doesn't want to be sued because a nurse did something that royally ticked off a foreigner just because the nurse was unfamilar with the customs and practices, such as stuff surrounding death, of a foreign culture.

well if they didn't want to die, maybe they shouldn't have been in a hospital

i mean, we ALL know that more people die in hospitals every day than any other place...

Its not really a major because it has to do with Grad schools, but I read an article today that was an interview with a guy who wrote the book "so your thinking about going to seminary" and I felt it had to do with this discussion.
Could you explain why a Masters of Divinity degree from a seminary is so much longer (90+ hours) than normal masters level programs (30-40 hours)?

A Master of Divinity (MDiv) is longer than other masters’ programs (at colleges or even seminaries) because the MDiv is a professional program—like a law degree or a medical degree. It is extensive because it trains students for a profession that encompasses several different areas of study, e.g., Bible, theology, history, ancient languages, preaching, counseling, and so on. This degree is also customarily pursued by students who do not have any formal training in this field.

The traditional master’s degree, by contrast, is usually pursued by people who have a background in that area. For instance, students who earn a master’s degree in English usually studied English as an undergraduate. What’s more, these types of degrees are purely academic—unlike the MDiv, which is equally academic and practical in nature.

To teach music, you have to learn the different theories, all of the scales, how to play all of the instruments, etc. You would need to major in music education.

You're not alone. Only one for every 47 communications majors works in the communications field.

Well, i mean that's a slightly skewed statistic. I mean, all those print journalism majors are just SOL now, aren't they? On the other hand, at least they have good communications skills in whatever field they went into...lol

Coms was certainly not difficult. Do keep in mind though, if you want to get anywhere with a coms degree, you'd better do some practicum work. Adding that in, makes it a little tougher.

Let's put it this way... You know who the Youth Majors are (RocketFan, case in point: Eugene was a youth major). But I didn't want to single out Youth; someone else mentioned 'praise and worship'...
