Have you seen Jesse Sanders play basketball?

yeah and ive seen a box and one defense too? Have you? If the other team knows Jesse doesn't shoot much, the game plan gets even more simple than this year. Lock down Jesse make someone else dribble and distribute....right now that person doesn't exist.

And the practice comment TTL...please.....need i quote Allen Iverson.

I would love to see someone run a box and one on Jesse. We would hit threes all night.

Exactly. You leave Kyle and Jeremy open and they're not going to miss.

Losing Ant and Seth is going to hurt but I'm sorry to break it to the guys that don't like McKay, it's not going to kill us.

It's because we've seen him in practice. It's a consensus that he is going to be a good player.
Isn't that the same argument everyone's using against me with Baker?

I think the point RF is making is that Jesse is a great player that sets up other players - we all know that, BUT he works well when we have people slashing to the basket that the defense have to respect. If he doesn't work on his outside shot - people will play off of him - keep him from driving and you will have Kyle and Anderson on the wings covered tightly.

Jesse can beat anyone off the dribble. He proved that this year.

i wonder if coach might be looking for a tall, goofy white dude who's basketball-smart and that'll out-hustle most...

hmm.

All in all, Jesse was every bit as good as Hildo in his first year, if not better. However, Hildo really came into his own starting in his sophomore year. I expect Jesse to take his game up a level as well.

It doesnt seem its' possible with the current coaching staff or the old staff. I dont know but I really dont see how were not significantly worse next year. Kyle is the only proven scorer returning and I think he will suffer without defenses keying on Anthony and Seth. Could be the rebuilding year that we expected this year
Minaya has proved he could score, so has Jeremy Anderson. Jesse has proven he can score when needed. That's four scorers.

I looked up the stats, and they appear to show that both Anderson and Ohman are as good as, if not better, shooters, percentage-wise, than Curry was this year.

Anderson (2007-2008): .413 & .393 (3-point range)
Ohman (2008-2009): .425 & 415
Curry (2008-2009): .417 & .347

And Anderson's game is bound to improve with Jesse feeding him the ball next year.

JS was playing basketball with the coach's a few days ago...I guess that sums up the amount of ill will towards the program...they are currently helping him be placed as well

This is something that has happened here many times under Meyer. We find out a player we recruited is not going to be able to make an ongoing contribution and the staff helps him find a D2 or NAIA school where he can continue his career. We had at least 2 or 3 transfer to Kentucky Christian back in the day. The only name I can remember is Mike Batt.

that's funny. i wish i had the time to go back and find a bunch of the trash that was posted about KO throughout the year. i guess now that he's gonna be an even bigger cog next year with all of these other guys gone...he now gets everyone's seal of approval. it's the liberty way.

No one ever trashed KO for taking an open shot. What came into question from time to time was his definition of "open".

No, listen to what I'm saying: if you leave him open, he can drain it.

If he's having to create his own shot or is moving laterally before the shot, he won't make it. If you leave him open and he can spot up, he's going to nail it.

i was only pulling jon's chain really.....it was very early in the season where jon (and several others really) was all over kyle's on court performance, and even his tattoos and chest pumping antics. i seem to recall a whole thread about relegating kyle to the far end of the bench.

Bo Barnes, guard out of a christian school in AZ. 6 foot 4, more of a 2 guard type. Scored in bunches in HS, never had less than 10 in a game his senior year, averaged like 24 or something... was in the paper at the beginning of the week.
