That is so true. We need to go back to last years squad and get Armon, Nathan Campbell, Garen Lafser, and Tim Layer back here so we can get some real ball players on this squad. They always play for the name on the front of the jersey seeing that half of them didn't have a name on the back.

Man I'm telling you, if Tim Layer had the green light and minutes that Seth did, he would have gone for 35 a night.

I've said this a thousand times to coach's, administration, Professors, etc. Maybe it's the pride I have in our school and what we stand for but if you dont 100% want to be here then you should leave. No ill will, but leave. This is a place for those that see this as the top of our kind...we will reach new heights but we're still the top for what we believe in. This is the place for lifers...coach Tolsma's, Coach Green's, Pinder's....people who are VERY VERY good at what they do and can compete at ANY level but dont want to go anywhere as long as they are being treated with the respect they deserve.

Liberty is for lifers who respect what we came from and what we stand for...you have to buy into Doc's vision to be that type....but there will be many who will be credited when we arrive at the national level...we're already the top for what we stand for, but soon enough we'll be nationally recognized for being as good as everyone else, yet being different at the same time.

No ill will for Seth but he's more concentrated on his vision and not our vision...and that's cool....but we need lifer's

Him and Nathan Campbell would ahve combined for ove 50 a game no doubt. Tim Layer is better than Seth we should have kept him with his great outside shooting and his great....well outside shooting

About losing verbals, I don't think Vander Pol is in danger of going anywhere and I think Perez and Soko are fairly safe bets.
Vander Pol signed in the fall. Perez and Soko both have former HS teamates on our team (for now anyway; the way things are going, who knows about tomorrow?)
FWIW I asked Bill if he was coming back and he said yes.

And Joel is definitely coming here. In fact, I might give up my 5000 posts to make a "JoelVanderPolIsGoingToBeGreat" name... It might just be worth it.

Memo: We will be good...and we will be very good here soon. Next year we'll be in the hunt...I promise you that.

Here's what I love...next year we may finish 1st or 2nd in the BSC yet only win 20 games (still better then 18.) and we'll still have people say "See your going in the wrong direction!"
I meant it more as Im not ticked about this because we need him to be good at basketball, we dont. sorry for the confusion

No insider knowledge, but if I had to guess, I'd say he's going to Wake: you still have a small school environment, it's close to home, it's the ACC, and it worked for Tim Duncan.

But if he chooses a CAA school, half of us are doing a nose dive off the Rivermont Street bridge.

Keeping it real man...RM could join that list of coach's but I'm afraid to many are hard on him with unrealistic expectations and see seasons like this one as a disappointment when it was one of our better seasons in 15 years...hopefully he'll learn to say "bump you, we just had a great season and I know it!" but we'll see

As my facebook status says "Liberty was not built by a single piece of good news and it's demise will not be a day of bad news...believe me when I say that"

I refuse to look at us as a stepping stone school...we're not, and I know it's unrealistic on my part to think we can find EVERYONE who buy's into that vision.

I just laugh at these silly things sometime...we were founded by a man who looked into a forest and told people where the dorms were going to be! HAHA think about that! Seriously, as long as we stay true to our founder (as a school) who stayed true to the Lord, we'll be fine...because we will be blessed with those lifer's we've been looking for...and I know I sound like a preacher saying that stuff but those who know me know I'm not even close to like that  haha but it's true

Someone mentioned UVA. They don;t even have a coach so he's not going there. VaTech, highly doubtful. Clemson... dunno, but their coach is a former ODU Monarch player in the 70's and coached here in the 90's... Oliver Purnell.

If curry wants to play in the nba he needs to go to a major conference and considering the reason for his transfer, i think he has the nba on his mind...

He's not going to CAA the reason he's leaving us is b/c Dell saw his son's stock drop even after scoring 30 a game...

He'd stay with us if he was going to go to CAA

Anyone think back to when Davidson had that Elite 8 run? That took place b/c they had a PG in place and let Curry do his thing...same thing here guys, you cant build around these types you can only have them shine while someone else is producing and leading...Same thing we saw with LB and the same thing we would see with SC...although he and Jesse down the road could be sick but I'd be very frightened right now about our future if Jesse was leaving

VERY well said HMO......I've been at Liberty for going on 15 years and I love it more each year. I will NEVER go to another school and I pray the Lord never moves me. I will forever be an LUFlame fan and that's why I steal the motto from the Tarheels, "I'm LUFlame born, I'm a LUFlame bred and when I die, I'm a LUFlame dead!"

It sure does suck, but lets not try and totally trash him. He did give liberty a very good season and I am very thankful for that. :pale

I still can't get over this. McKay gives you a chance...don't you at least owe him something? It doesn't add up...I don't know if this is legal or not, I'd put some serious restrictions on where he can transfer.

He leaves and pays for it for riding the pine. You have no control where he transfers... seriously!

HE didn't give us a very good season. The team did and Coach McKay was responsible for the vast majority of the team being here.

So I have a friend who is going to be an RA next year. I don't know how legit this is but he said Dwayne Carson told them in their meeting that Seth was going to transfer to VA Tech. Again I don't know if its true or not but I just thought I would spread the word. Its only Dwayne Carson so who knows if he knows all the detail of whats going on.
