They didn't show.

I say that having no idea how JMU guarded us.
Not to mention that our 2nd half defense was awful
You think we would have learned from the VMI debacle that opposing teams tend to make adjustments during the half. I guess not...

Here's to 2010, fellas.

I've adjusted the thread title accordingly.

Despite him being the only one that showed up today, and Jesse to some extent after it was already decided, we really lost the game within about a minute and a half. We were down by 2, going back and forth and at about 11:30 we shot 3 airballs and they hit 3, 3 pointers.

I don't know what was going on with the refs. Their post players were bumping like crazy to get position. They even called it a foul on Anthony one time, when he was clearly getting a series of hip checks. We traveled like 500 times and they only called like 5 of them. (It seemed like it was 5 in a row too). It was just all over the place crazy.

JMU cheerleaders: I will refrain from talking about what I know you're all thinking I'm going to say (keep your clothes on please), but I would say it's debatable whether or not what the end of their skirts was touching is considered thigh. A fine representative of what we all assume and hear about JMU girls.

Anyway, that sucked. They were a lot taller, and we couldn't hit anything.

Same here man. But it's alright, it's a young team and that happens. Was a good season, now we get to look forward to the future.

This is the story of the game. During that span there was a series where Kyle threw it out of bounds, missed something on defense, then shot from behind the beak and airballed it. We can't have that and win.

The thing I don't get is in December, we were never out of a game. We never gave up. We could come back from anything. The past month, a team goes on a 9-0 run and we are done.

By the way, one of the refs tonight (the worst one) was the same guy who made the terrible calls at Depaul and St. Louis this year.

With no height and only 3 guys who are legitimate threats to score, we had a good year. Will only get better in the future, we are on the right path.

15:00- 50-50. We had been exchanging points, and Skinny Bald Ref (SBR) decided to get a little more involved. At first, there was a make-up call or two from another ref, but when Ohman got HACKED on a lay-up, SBR called it out on LU, and the Dukes followed w/ a 3, we seemed to lose momentum... fast. A couple of misses and TO's and JMU following with a couple more 3's seemed to push us into the same mode we were playing in towards the latter half of the second VMI game.
I really like the gray haired ref that had some words for one of the guys on our bench. He looked a bit like a school marm challenging the cut-up in class... which made him looked pretty church league.

Also noted the JMU's defense is basically the same defense that we've seen the last half of the season- the double up on Curry seems to be the defense du jour. It was funny to see them get 3 defenders on Ant out on the perimeter; he quickly sidestepped them and took the ball to the basket.

An extra two games and extra 7-10 days of practice can't hurt a young team.

Really thought you guys would win, G-W only lost to them by 12 at their place in late February during Bracketbusters.

Sorry how things turned out for you. you had a great year and made lots of people take notice. Only 4 teams out of over 30o D-1 teams will win their last game.
Hopefully we can avenge our loss to them at our house and kick their butt.

I'm guessing the game will be on channelsurfing.net.... but I think we are going head to head with NCAA because of a scheduling conflict.

False. There are teams who dont make their respective conference tourneys. See 9th place in the Big South(excludes Presby). Presby could win their last. The Ivy League can win their last because there is no tourney. Any Independent besides NJIT can win their last. And other bottom feeders in conferences that exclude members from tourneys could also win their last.

those "other" teams you mentioned are not worth mentioning. I'm sure you understood his point and there was no need to pull that crap out of your butt (however true it may be).

thanks for the encouragement ODULU, please destroy them.

It has nothing to do with my or LU's standards. I think you'll find at most schools that you can't see the cheerleader's underwear when they're just standing there. In america, the cultural standard is for skirts to extend down beyond the butt cheeks.
