Maybe I'm splitting hairs but I dont think they ever "scramble" here...the black book of important people they know is to deep to ever scramble....if this was LC I'd be worried!

I'm thinking he wasnt...there was no list. After she fell through he simply asked and then facebook groups started pushing for it and as SJ said they did as well...so then a list of 1 was created and that 1 was fulfilled

That's what I'm trying to say, LU doesnt really need a list...one fell through they then asked who do you want, they said ok and made it happen

There weren't Facebook groups until after it had been announced as far as I can remember. The LUnatics were standing around in my kitchen and Luke asked Jerry who they were getting. He said the thing about Laura Bush and said it fell through. He told us Mike Huckabee had given him Chuck Norris' wife's cell phone number. I told him that would be awesome. Two weeks later Chuck Norris was our graduation speaker.

they still havent found him? the day he escaped i was painting my house and a neighbor was telling me someone escaped from jail and they thought he was in our area. Later, when I saw the picture, i was a little worried, because i imagine the police radios would have said "hell be easy to spot, the only white guy around garfield ave. and 13th street." Haha. IMO we do have those that have been successful come out of LU the only problem is they arent known nationally. Why does that matter? Its not because of the press its because they would have to spend half of their speech talking about themselves and what they have done.

And I don't think we should EVER consider "someone other than a preacher" as a requirement. Don't forget we're still a Christian school and who our Founder is...

Samkon can and prob will but 10 or 15 years from now. He doesn't have much to say about his NFL experience but will have a ton to say from his medical experience here soon.

He's a pastor (for HMO) and he's conservative enough that I can listen to him. (Seriously, I almost went to the 2006 graduation to PROTEST John McCain - Yes. I dislike him THAT much)

I would argue that our Bacc'y service should feature a preacher and our graduation service feature someone respectable and successful in the professional world.

I also think we should have a class day speaker, and that the seniors get to choose who that is. That's where the Chuck Norris's of the world will go.
