Hold My Own wrote:My business partner is a Medical Doctor who went to Johns Hopkins. He has a diet business (http://www.drtabor.com) so I didnt expect him to have great things to say about the cleanse. He said there was mixed studies on it and that some studies show its benefits while others still show benefits although the problem is the lack of protein and vitamins.

He said he'd support me doing it if I was to make sure my body was still getting protein via shakes and stuff and taking vitamins throughout the process.

SO THERE'S YOUR DOCTOR LUCONN!
I know Aaron. Is he repackaging Revival for weight loss now?

Well even Revival was about diet but they focused on soy products and also marketed to help woman going through their change of life...now he uses more milk protein then he does soy but now also has meals to go along with the shakes and bars...his new products now are really really good

I was watching fox at like 2am and his infomercial was on....I laughed and gave him a hard time about it

But to answer your question yes, instead of only going after woman he's going after everyone and offers pretty much what nutra system does (his biggest competitor)

Isn't he the dude with the Ferrari or some Italian sports car that got on the TRBC stage during the car on stage series? I worked with a guy who was one of his test subjects for that diet website. It seemed liked it worked pretty well.

Hope this post helps everyone.

1. I'm new to the forum, so hello.

2. No, this is not Tyler registering a new name just for fun.

3. I just commented in Star magazine on Oprah's 21-day detox diet. The problem with acute, severe calorie restriction is the harm it can cause your body, including death. Most detox plans deplete your electrolytes and fuel reserves. This means your heart can stop beating, your bones start deteriorating, your kidneys are hit hard, your skin start thinning, your brain can start shrinking, etc.

4. High protein shakes and bars, based on peer-reviewed, double-blind, placebo-controlled published medical studies, work the best for weight loss. This is because they provide the average person with an easy way to boost protein intake for increased satiety (hunger satisfaction). In our published clinical trial, we showed 400% better results than Alli (the leading weight loss pill) during an equal time period.

5. Many of my male clients have easily lost 10 pounds in the first week (if you plan to lose more than 2-5 pounds, you should consult your own doctor). The plan is simple: 2 high-protein bars or shakes per day, 5 fruits and veggies; and, 1 sensible entree (e.g. chicken breast plus 2 veggies) for about 1,200 calories per day.

I've posted pics from 2 local Lynchburg, VA men who lost 11 pounds and 9 pounds their first week.

I really need to develop a taste for protein shakes or something. My mom has started making smoothies everyday and has lost 22 pounds in two months. Every time I start something I do it for a couple weeks and then go back to being lazy and eating bad.

Not all protein shakes are bad...the bad ones are the ones where you can taste the grains of protein but thats generally found in cheap protein...in the stuff I drink every morning it mixes up and has the same texture and taste as chocolate milk...stop by tomorrow and I'll give you one to try...they really are good

I drink chocolate milk every day so if I had something like that I'd be set. I'm in NC though so I can't stop by.

I've just gotta do something. The past week or two I haven't eaten good at all. Although after that stomach bug I had yesterday, I'm not sure I need any type of cleansing.

No, it actually ended up being a bug. It wasn't what I ate. No one else in my family was anywhere near sick, and with all the stuff that was going on, it was more than just a bad combo of food.

Dr. Tabor, I need your professional opinion. Which is more realistic: House or Scrubs?

Some of the best protein out there is Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard. It's not cheap, but it is really good. The Double Rich Chocolate tastes good, IMO.
