DR was I think the big favorite to take the whole thing and they are now not even making it to the quarters...unbelievable...

So I recorded it...knew it might go over so recorded the 30 minute show after....go through the game 3 hours then get to my 30 minute show and it ended with Jose Reyes so I figured DR won until I came on here...unreal i didnt get to see it

I was torn b/c I loooooove underdogs but one of my good friends is the DR RF so I always pull for him...but this means a lot more to the Netherlands then it does DR the Netherlands havent tasted success while most of the DR's are all-stars...they said the Netherlands are equivalent to a AA team...haha you gotta love baseball

Did anyone see the 4-6-3 play that Cuba made earlier? It wasn't a double play but rather a ball hit up the middle that the second baseman got, flipped to the short stop, who then threw to first. It's a play that we've all seen before but is still a great play to see whenever it happens.

And this dude from Cuba is pumping gas. 98-100 mph fastball then coming back with a 75 mph breaking ball. That's almost unfair.

And as I say that the Australian dude hits the curve to left for an RBI.

What's sick is this is the first look that a lot of scouts are getting of these players...I remember back to the last WBC they said the scouts were at every game taking crazy notes b/c they knew nothing about any of them...this whole team could be shipped over tomorrow and start in the MLB they are that good

The announcers just brought him up. They said he has been here since pretty much the beginning of time.

He reminds me of La Bamba from Conan O'Brien.

Well turn it on and watch the Cubans now...they just took out their 21 year old fireballer that can get it up to triple digits but they will put you to sleep how slow they play

This is kind of entertaining, but I am more interested in it being over without anybody getting hurt. I was pretty happy that the Cubs' closer Marmol gave up the winning runs last night (even though the first baseman was charged with the error). That means he can get back to Arizona where he belongs for the rest of the spring. That goes for all of the players, not just the ones on my favorite team.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I don't see this thing making it another 6 years.

The US is looking pretty bad (other than Braun) against Venezuela tonight. The size of the crowd in Toronto is embarrassing.

They play Puerto Rico first game of the second round, rather than Netherlands.

I don't understand the double steal call there with 1 out in the 9th. Tying run is already on base - I understand that you don't want to hit into a DP but I just think that was a horrible call there.

If it works, you've got guys on 2nd and 3rd with one out. A single ties the game in that situation.

Which may not be a bad thing in light of the Netherlands taking it to the DR.
