Do non-LU fans think this is a shot at us? We realize that. Read all of our threads, we all say Jesse is our MVP.

I didn't read all of your posts, sorry no shot intended. I will agree that Sanders is top notch and your best freshman.

Sorry, I've had a bad week. I didn't mean to jump at you. It's not our fault the media hypes Seth so much, and of course we're going to jump all over that. EVERY Big South team would.

Point of information Realist (in the Bizzarro world). McKay's New Mexico team won a MWC title in 2005. This just in.............. MWC>BSC.

Sure we missed Jesse, and he's an integral and essential component to this team. However, it would be an oversimplification to conclude that he is more important than Seth. They are both equally important to this team right now. How good do you think we'd be with just Jesse and no Seth? What would opposing defenses do to us then? Sure Jesse is a great ball distributor, playmaker, and all around team-first type of player, but let's not forget that Seth drops 20 per game while being the focus of every opposing defense. In my opinion, they make it happen together.

I made this comment once before and I'll make it again: If Jesse hadn't fouled out in the first Radford game and if we didn't have the freakiest of endings at GW, then this team is 15-1 when Seth & Jesse go the distance with Seth dropping 20 or more. The lone loss exception would be a close loss to 12th ranked Clemson.

Also, aside from losing Marshall, I'll bet if you go back to every big ooc win for Winthrop, you'd probably find Chris Gaynor's name in most if not all of the old box scores. That guy was special. And players like Gaynor don't come around too often, if you're in the big south.

Definitely true about Gaynor. We had some pretty talented players, but without Gaynor I don't know if we accomplish all that we did.

And to think yall could have had Chris Moore (I think that was the guys name.. left handed guard from Morganton that ended up going to Charleston Southern) instead of Gaynor!! But Marshall's recruiting practices probably deserve another thread.

Seth Curry is your best freshman. Sanders is obviously important and a really good player... but it's not even close folks.

Paradox has it right, in terms of the chicken and egg argument. He's right. Sanders isn't nearly important if Curry isn't on that team. At the same time, Curry isn't nearly as good unless Sanders is on that team. Both are integral players. Not sure which one is more important, but they play off each other.

It's like asking which is more important to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich - the peanut butter or the jelly? Without either one, it's not a PB &J sandwich. Without Sanders and Curry both, it's just not the same team.

Clearly, the jelly. Peanut Butter by itself wouldn't be that great. You need the jelly, you could just have a jelly sandwich.

I disagree. I eat peanut butter sandwiches nearly every day.

I read this laughing as I ate a spoonful of crunchy peanut butter. Even the bread is optional if you've got peanut butter.

This is funny b/c you actually think that means something. Conferences are all relative. If anything, its easier to win in a higher tier conference. Of course, Mckay's career has been one of decline, he then tanked that program beyond belief as it is one of the best homecourts in the nation. His next stop will most likely be D2 or high school.

The question is, do you fire him before he bolts, or does he find a D2 job first?

"This is irrelevent because it contradicts my 'McKay=0 conference titles' statement, so I will simply plug my ears and ignore you. It's easier to win in harder conferences because I said so. I just hope McKay leaves Liberty before the team starts winning even more.

The question is, do you think he'd be interested in trying to resurrect the WU program the way he has Liberty's?"

How's that theory working out for Purple Face so far Delusionist? I say that, even though IMHO he has done a pretty good job at WS, but no championships yet, and I doubt if he would say it's been easy.

Funny, as I never stated he hasn't won a conference title. Of course, he's won one, while skipping around various programs, running them into the ground, then bolting for the next job before he can get run out of town. Unfortunately, he didn't get out of New Mexico in time and got canned.

Seeing how WU won a title last year and will continue to be the premier program, while LU continues to languish, I think I'll pass on some second rate coach such as Mckay.

Premier program? Did you happen to see your team play this year? If you want to talk about a coach bolting before the bottom dropped out of the program does the name "Marshall" mean anything to you? He built a great program and then knew when to "bolt" before it caved in. Let me give you some adivce...stop living in the past. Instead of living on past glories perhaps you should start hoping your team can win in the future since "Marshall bolted". At least LU has made some atempt to build the program. They"languished' as one of the top teams in the conference this year.
