I wouldn't necessarily say that about UNCA. I live in Boston and a lot of the med/dental school have told me (without any prodding) that they are rooting for us because of what happened to Kenny.
Perhaps, but other than just being mentioned a time or two in a game, I can't really see that being used to successfully generate mass interest in UNCA if you guys were to make the NCAA tournament. I think most people would hear the story and say "Oh, that's sad" then move on to whatever's next.

I think we're all in agreement that RU offers nothing to the basketball world though

Agreed on Radford. I think the story about twins at a military school is fairly blah myself. The Citadel's story this year is a little better. Without twins of course. Good to see you are reading Andy Katz I guess though (Sarcasm intended; shouldn't have fired Whelliston).

I surmised that to be the case, and, with a distinct possibility that the finals could be at the Vines (I gathered that specific knowledge from you) I think it's too bad that the students might be gone before the championship game. I guess, those who are into the season might stick around - possibly changing their plans.

Anyway - thanks for the info.

A friend and I are looking to goto the game tomorrow at Radford. What's our best option for getting tickets? Or is the no hope at this point. Thanks in advanced to anyone who can help.

I believe if the final is UNC-A vs. LU or VMI, all 3,300 seats still will be sold and occupied........ :)....if it's RU vs. LU or VMI, no doubt, SRO in Dedmon.
If Asheville wins, VMI or LU will host the championship.
Duh, I forgot for a moment......

I wasn't talking about the Holmes twins story. I just think that VMI's style of play could garner a lot of interest in the tournament. I think that a lot of people have been hearing about the way they play, but might not have the chance to see them since they are in the Big South and don't get a lot of national TV exposure.

My laptop battery is completely dead so it won't charge and the cord isn't that long. I had to go to other measures.

Why does it matter which school would garner the most interest?

Unless ESPN needs to hype up the play-in game (and I think UNCA is the only one of the remaining four that would definitely go to the PIG), there's a 98% chance that our conference's run in the Big South Conference will be over after Round One. We won't have time to garner any interest. We'll just be one of 32 teams that went home early. ESPN and newspapers aren't going to be building up the VMI-Wake Forest matchup because they play at a frenetic pace or the Liberty-Louisville game b/c of Steph Curry.

Hate being a pessimist and obviously a team could go on a magical run... I just don't think that "garnering interest" should be a factor in who we want to win the tournament. If UNCA doesn't win, I want the best team to cut down the nets. The best team will have the best chance to get a win.. and THAT would garner interest for the Big South.

And that's what we are going to find out here starting in about 9 hours.
