Have you visited Lexington? Some good history there. Also, more and more, today's coaches are accenting the "VMI way" to recruit folks who want the "VMI way", and aren't just looking for a grant-in-aid. No more signing of kids who say: "VMI was my only offer".

Gotta warn you though, we don't serve Kool-Aid at halftime..

We were up until someone pulled the plug on the ESPN feed and the internal lights. ETSU was top 10 in the nation at the time. They were really, really good. But no we didn't win that night...But I did get my Sports Center moment! I believe the 2004 championship game was on ESPN. Liberty played pretty good that day!

But even greater that Winthrop fell that evening. now if only LU handled their business against RU that evening.............................UNCA Alum wrote:Hopefully the Keydets and Flame fans will stick around for the second matchup and pull for the upset. Kind of similar to back in '03 when we beat Winthrop at the buzzer in the first semifinal at the Vines Center and the LIBERTY band stormed the court. Hahahaha. Though something like that would probably only happen when it is Winthrop going down.THAT...was a great game. Just about the entire Vines was packed with fans coming in for the LU-RU semi...and ALL were rooting against Winthrop. It was quite electric, for a UNCA fan.

Could you imagine your life right now if they pulled the feed before your dunk??? hahaha my how your life would be different
Yeah I mentioned that I guess the two championship games were on ESPN but that's about all I can come up with

LU and VMI, on the other hand, would have something interesting to offer the Big Dance. LU's Curry connection and VMI's style are big enough draws to garner some attention.I wouldn't necessarily say that about UNCA. I live in Boston and a lot of the med/dental school have told me (without any prodding) that they are rooting for us because of what happened to Kenny.
