Thunderstix make noise. The others don't. That's why I like them as opposed to the others.

They've been wanting to get the dimmers for a couple of years. I don't know what happened but something screwed up when we got them.

yeah i remember that discussion on here, was wondering what ever happened with that.

The only good things that the fans/towels/pom poms have is for the people behind the backboards during free throws by the opposing teams. They are very worthless other than that, hopefully the fans behind the back boards tomorrow understand that concept

does that mean indoor football stadiums would not be allowed to have artificial noise makers?

I just don't get the rule...oh well

I honestly don't know the answer to that question. I know some conferences don't allow noisemakers period, whether football or basketball. I almost got kicked out at Elon in 05 for having an air horn.

The only options were to get shades to go over the lights but that got to be close to the amount that it would have cost to replace all of them so they decided to hold off until they can do it the way they want.

Good decision if you ask me....we have a hard enough time keeping the lights on during games and practices....I couldnt imagine if you were to add another element in that

up until 3 or 4 years ago artificial noisemakers were only illegal during gameplay so timeouts technically were fair game. i actually got in an argument about them on the ask the commisioner section of the website. i used to bring one of those viking type horn things...but no longer. anyway I've done the straw thing and it is really loud.

that was per ncaa rule. when i emailed kyle about it he said the big south was just following ncaa rules...weird thing UVA girls game one time UVA section had thundersticks and no one took them away. to be safe i'd stick to clapping and straws and keys.
