I need to get on the CJ plan. I could go for some biscuits right now, but can't afford to eat there everyday or i'll go broke

I actually have only been twice since it opened, but I always get enough in leftovers to make another meal for later. On my second visit, I had my first-ever sweet potato pie turnover: that must be what heaven tastes like! I've still never had their cinnamon biscuits yet, but I do love their chicken.

So far, I've dropped about $18 there for:

breakfast platter with sausage & bo rounds, ham & egg biscuit, and 2 bo biscuits
3-piece dinner (breast, 2 wings, & dirty rice) with sweet tea
children's order of the boneless chicken strips (and I don't even have any kids)

Can I just say it's nice to have a decent fast food chicken joint in town that's open past 10? I swung by there on the way home from work and just polished off a cajun filet biscuit and fries.

Thanks for the tip about extra seasoning -- that definitely hit the spot. Slowly but surely I'm learning how to get the most bo for my jangle.

I was there yesterday and they seemed to have everyone that has been hired so far all on the schedule at once, including about four managers. There were more people behind the counter than in the restaurant. They had one lady writing down people's orders on a piece of paper while in line, and then you would hand the piece of paper to the cashier. What? How does that make anything go faster? Was the cashier deaf? I didn't understand that, I think she just didn't have anything to do.

But man, that place attracts the, um, finer side of Lynchburg.

With the name of the restaurant and the food they sell, I find this far less than surprising.

So, I've never been to a Bojangle's before. Because of this thread, I decided to go today. Wow. That was the best lunch I've had in a long time!

Cajun filet biscuit, fries w/ extra seasoning, and a sweet tea.

I'm thinking about going back for dinner.

What else is good?

Super likes their breakfasts; Bryson likes their cinnamon biscuits & Supremes (chicken tenders). I'm old school, so I usually get the 2 or 3 piece dinner with dirty rice & cajun pintos. You have to give the sweet potato pie a try next time: best dessert ever!

boberry biscuits. 4 piece supremes meal.

cajun filet combo

tailgate special

thats all i get, i just rotate the top 2 normally, unless i go breakfast, which would be bacon, egg, and cheese, with fries instead of borounds. and of course, always a huge sweet tea

think about it from a restaurants point of view, if you've ever worked in one. your first week of being open, you need people there to kick butt (sorry :))and make things work. meaning, managers need to be there to see that things are being operated the way they should be. the first week always weeds out some weak employees. better to lose them early on when you're over staffed, and try to straighten the schedule out keeping the STRONG employees. again, from a restaurants point of view, why not have an employee stay with the line that is wrapped around the dining room? it not only gets the attention of the customers, and makes them feel welcome rather than just standing in line bored, and it also gets the customers to think about what they want rather than stand around, finally get up front to the register, and still take 10 minutes to order, holding up the line even more. i thought it was a great idea, especially the first week. that's what i gathered anyway.

I noticed the staffing issue as well. They don't always have the pad and pen person, but I'm guessing that's to help those who are training on the register and learning their way around the keyboard. They always have a ton of people on duty, so many that there are quite a few on break in the main dining area. I guess either there's no break room or the break room just isn't big enough to accommodate everyone on break at any given time.

I just got back from the one in rustburg. They have quit the pad and pen person, so I'd agree that its just for training. As usual, it was good :)

I went again today. I am officially hooked although the chicken is a notch below Chik-fil-a IMHO. They had some biscuit with something that looked like melted cheddar cheese all over them in the counter up front. What is that?

I went back again today, and I have to say that although the food is good, it is becoming less and less worth the wait. That's not a statement about the food quality, but my diminishing patience level. The lines are always long, both inside and at the drive-thru, and despite the fact that they have two dozen people on the clock, they still take forever to move people through. For someone who gets crankier as he gets hungrier (i.e., me), this is not a good situation.

I've got to say, other than terrible location, the one on 221 most likely failed because of who was running the place. They were very often rude, had friends "hanging out", goofing off with other coworkers, etc. It was not a place I liked going. I went to the Rustburg location last night and it wasn't that bad, but the people I dealt with were not nice at all. Like they were doing me a favor or something by taking my order. They need to nip that before it degenerates into the previous situation. They need to do whatever Chickfila is doing because those folks are overly nice.

I heard health code violations put that place under, or am I remembering the wrong place?

the one in rustburg has always been overly nice to me. and they have gotten a lot faster now that they've been open a while. one time i dumped my fries and i didn't even say anything but they immediatly cleaned it up and brought me more for free, and almost everytime I have been they've given me an extra chicken strip (with my chicken supremes meal) or extra fries

Sorry, guys, but I had my first BAD Bojangles experience this afternoon about 4:30. I drove to the Timberlake restaurant after work and put in my usual order--3 piece white with dirty rice & sweet tea. First, they told me they were out of dirty rice, so I said, let's substitute cole slaw instead. To make matters worse, then then told me they were out of chicken breasts and it would be 6 minutes until they were ready. So I substituted again--supremes instead of my 3 piece.

The manager felt so bad he took down my name and said I'd get a FREE 3-piece meal the next time I came in. So if anybody stops by Bojangles and drops my name, you should get a free dinner on me.
