The most successful program on Liberty Mountain deserves its own forum. We give Coach Green and the Lady Flames their props while breaking down their run to the Big Dance once again.

A friend just e-mailed me this interesting nugget:
Coach Green is currently #10 in Winning Percentage among all active D-I women’s basketball coaches.
If you compare that to active D-I men’s basketball coaches, Green has the same winning percentage (.758) as Thad Matta of Ohio State, who is #6 among men’s coaches. And he has a better winning pct. than Mike Krzyzewski (.750), Jim Boeheim or Bob Huggins (.735), and Rick Pitino (.732).
The man is a great coach Big South or not. Yes I know this is apples and giraffes but my friend insisted (former friend) that it was a good stat.

We are very lucky to have a coach as good as Cary Green. He should be coaching in the SEC or ACC but thankful that he is in the Christian environment present at LU.

Coach Green doesn't get enough credit for what he's done. I wish more of the students got behind the women's team, but we have a hard enough time getting them to come to a home football game against a top 15 team.

The worst thing for the women's team is that the men's team is doing so well and is so exciting to watch. It makes watching women's basketball more unbearable than normal. I know people who used to always go to women's games and never go to men's games who rarely ever go to women's games now because they're at the men's games all the time.

Students didn't go to women's games any more in 2006 when our men's team was awful than they do now.

Students maybe not but town's people did. It wasn't a huge number but there's still less going now than when the men's team was bad.

I've never worried about attendance from the community because they're so fickled.

I think that our fans have been spoiled all of these years. Back when we started the good years (When the Wilkerson twins and Elena started playing) we were drawing over 2K in much of our games esp the year we went undefeated in the regular season and into the early Cary Green years. Since then the fan base has stabilized and seem to get around 1K on a good night even though we probably are better now than we were back 12 years ago. It is expected that we beat some high profile programs every year and breeze through the Big South every year. Thanks to Cary Green those are the minimum expectations of this program.

So true. I cant stand having no one here at womens games. Well thats biased though. It is much harder to get people to do promo games and many times the people cant shoot for their life.

Dont ask me about the trike race
