Even though I'm a big fan of Capt. Ahab, it was indeed "too soon" to be making pegleg jokes about KG.

Only because I've seen some wonderful posts supporting what KG has gone through & most of you have acknowledged through various posts that KG is a really nice & humble guy- I'm not going to take offense to any of this mumbling- although I don't see why he's even being mentioned..

I guess no one on here with all the basketball pearls of wisdom I've seen here before has any real thoughts for this topic/game eh??

I guess after that 28 point spanking you took last time on national TV- everyone's just waiting for an LU victory before they talk junk to me.. That's WEAK!!! I was expecting more..

All Im gonna say is I watched that game...LU did not come to play that day. Tomorrow night, with the energy of the Vines Center behind them, they are gonna give those Bulldogs some obedience training. LU has won 5 of 6 against UNCA in the friendly confines of "The Furnace". Even despite the horrifically bad performance down in Asheville LU averages almost 5 more points per game (75.5 ppg-70.6), allows almost 11 fewer ppg (67.9-78.2) Hits three pointers at a higher percentage (.358-.318), has MADE more three pointers (206-121), alowed a lower 3 pt percentage (.317-.380) AND has a +14.2 differential in scoring margin (+7.5- -7.7).

Not to mention this is a completely different team that walked out of the Justice Center after taking the beating they did. Im fully expecting an LU win Saturday night and I also expect it not to be close.

Kingaling just like you have the right to talk as much junk right now in regards to LU Vs UNC-A we choose to wait until tomorrow night to have the right to talk until next year (b/c lets face it we might not play in the BSC tourny b/c yall might not make it) 8)

Smart choices fellas... I chose to let the teams & the game decide my words last time as well even though LU can't play worth a lick anytime they visit the JC either- I loved playing in the Vines & we did well back in the day there- current teams have certainly struggled in VA though as UNCA plays badly at RU as well..

There are others who blasted me after the last game & said they couldn't wait for the day of redemption to come around.. subsequently I did expect more on here!!

Not make the tourney?? Seriously- you've got to be joking, right?? We're 1 game back of the Flames (for now!) & in that main middle pack of the league with most of our road games behind us after this VA swing.. Nice try HMO!!

For all your stats- how about...
LU Strength of schedule #295/Non- Conf SOS #117
UNCA SOS #129/ Non-Conf SOS #6

Comparing stats without regard to competition doesn't say much!! You spent too much time on this for nothing- other than the W/L record for us up there!! I agree that you guys are a different team & lacked any floor leader to set up your guys who shot poorly at the JC- This game boils down to energy & the team that shoots better IMO- Going into the game based on that- advantage LU.. If we shoot decently- I'm thinking UNCA in a nail-bitter.. If UNCA shows up flat, get's overwhelmed by the "Furnace" or you guys get off to a quick start on us- redemption may well be granted to the Flame faithful..

I don't think any of the fans involved on either side know which team of ours is going to show up each night!!! Go Dogs!!

I'm impressed that you guys fund your athletic department by selling losses to top tier programs.

I'm ready to see this blight on our schedule corrected post haste.

Strength of schedule means jack squat unless you actually win most of those games and it gives you a chance to actually be considered for an at large bid (which for this conference is pretty much a non-issue). You may have the 129th overall SOS and 6th OOC SOS but how many games of note did you win? umm I think 0. You lost by 37 to Campbell, 68 to UNC (Chapel Hill since youre both part of the UNC system), 18 to Tennessee, 43 to Duke and 24 to Ohio State. LU may not have as strong a schedule as UNCA, but has picked up some very good wins, including one over the number 1 team in the CAA in George Mason who as any basketball fan may remember, went to the Final Four. Maybe if you had picked up a quality win or two your SOS would really matter but frankly...it doesnt. Im not saying LU is gonna get an at large bid either but if youre gonna put out something like SOS to make your point, at least consider the results as well.

Seriously. You could finish the year with no wins and have the best strength of schedule in the nation - that doesn't mean you are good, it means you played a ton of good teams.

Kingaling,. I mean you seriously think that kid is the best athlete at 6 4 you have ever saw in person. Are you talking just big south, or in college period. If your talking college in general then I'm not even bothering to waste my time. If your talking the big south I would have to see more from this guy to even come close to saying that. I mean maybe if your looking at specifically 6'4 but in that same build is brewington , danny gathings and reggie williams just from the past couple seasons off the top of my head. If I remember correctly Arizona Reid and Gabe Martin were just as much athletic from what I have saw.

Best atheletes in the big south that I have seen in recent history are Gabe Martin, Greg Lewis, Danny Gathings, Dwight Brewington, Reggie Williams, John Williams in my book. Leo Lightbourne and Taj McCullough were pretty athletic too. AZ Reid was not particularly athletic. Just really strong and had a whole lot of desire. He was a good athlete though but not extraordinary.

Andre Smith of UNCA may be the most athletic PG I have seen in the league in quite a while.

My point is that you threw out every stat from points per game to whatever- you think the competition in which those numbers are derived shouldn't be compared??? I did not say we were better or would win more games or anything along those lines- the point is playing against Carolina, Duke, Ohio State, UT & posting those very stats you compared isn't the same as LU's opponents which is comparably weaker than UNCA's.. I would certainly imagine that LU would average better numbers against weaker competition than UNCA would vs stronger competition... Do you get it now??

Nope. Our loss to St. Louis is much better than any of your losses to a BCS school.

Just how many guys do you know standing flat footed on the weak side of the rim- that can jump straight up, grab the rebound & dunk it with both hands until it bounces off of the floor 20 feet in the air.... By the way- I'm not talking about practice here- I'm talking in games?? John's had 2 plays this year that I have never seen guys 6'10"-6'11" do... I will have to post a copy of the last play of the first half of our game vs VMI this year off an offensive rebound that he absolutely crushed with 2 hands & a similar play vs WU this past Wednesday- I respect the abilities & the basketball skills that those others you all have mentioned-- most of them were/are far better basketball players than John- but his albeit RAW athleticism is crazy though!!! IMHO I haven't seen anyone that possessed his RAW jumping ability combined with the quickness in which he gets up..

Then how about that 28 point loss to UNCA already..

I mean even if you guys win tomorrow it won't be by more than 28 points- so I'll still have upside & reason to talk!!! If I do end up eating my words on that bold prediction- I'll still have that ESPN game TiVo'd to watch if nothing else!!! But you guys have nice stats!!

Chill. I'm just arguing to argue. The St. Louis line was a joke. None of this talk has anything to do with the game tomorrow. The better team will win. So let it go. We'll talk when the game is over.

I'm afraid that you're basing your athletic review only on leaping ability. John is the best leaper I have ever seen in the Big South, hands down. But overall athlete? Eh, he's in consideration, but I wouldn't jump to any great conclusions yet. Taj was impressive. I would have liked to see him play wide receiver or tight end, maybe.

We haven't played great on the road, but it's like a coin toss with our team this year. From what I saw you guys really shouldn't be upset about getting thumped by us as much as you should be about that Radford game. I could have been a better ref if I had used soccer rules. At least in the game against us it was your fault and not someone else.

I thought the same thing about Sean Smith's picture. And I think this is fun...
