and i need some help! i have tmobile (yeah i know that is probably my first problem) but my phone doesnt really work the right way, alot of things in it dont work. i dont have insurane on it so they told me too bad, even though there is no water damage or anything I have done to the phone. to buy a new one would be 3-400 dollars. the T mobile guy said it HAD to be a tomobile phone to be able to put my sim card in and activate it. is this true or could i buy an unlocked phone?
andddd...last question: anyone know where to get an unlocked phone or old tmobile phone for cheap? thanks!!
Well, I do know that t mobile users have used an unlocked Blackberry Storm. So that is probably not the phone you're looking for but it's an example that there are at least some unlocked phones that can be used. (I think that's what t mobile is.)

Sorry that was my google addict in me coming out...you have options...try calling Tmobile corporate...a lot of the times the stores are very limited as to what they can do and the corp can do a lot more
You could also get out of your contract if you present it the right way...it's their job to provide you adequate service and they are not doing that right now.

the google phone does look amazing, but like i said...not in the position to go spend 400 bucks on it at the moment...
Yes, you can used any unlocked GSM phone, assuming it really is unlocked. The tricky part is finding a legitimate source for unlocked hardware in the U.S. There are plenty of websites selling, but it's just hard to distinguish the legitimate ones from the rip-offs.
If you really want to go the budget route, find a pre-paid T-Mobile phone in Wal-Mart or Target. They're usually $20-30. Pop in your SIM card and you should be good to go.

The $30 t-mobile phone is a piece of junk. If you just want one that will send and receive calls and texts and basically nothing else, that is the phone for you, however, I imagine you like most others do more than just that.

That is why I said "if you really want to go the budget route". It's just a phone. Sometimes that is all people want, so I mentioned it as an option.
