Do we really want to hand our competition BJ on a golden platter? We have to play them every year - we need to make sure we are not hurting ourselves here. I'm officially starting the "Keep BJ here" campaign. There in our conference - maybe we should get him to apply at Boston College, we will never play them.

TDD - let's leave the plays to BJ. It is obvious you would want your slot receiver running an inside slant in that formation to pull the OLB away from the flank receiver - who should go for the long ball. BJ would know that.

Actually two things Id change about that play TDD drew up:

1. Id line the QB either in the shotgun or the pistol formation. If you line him up under center with only 5 blockers he is gonna get absolutely hammered on the snap. By giving some extra depth that allows time for the blocking to develop and the play to be run
2. Id run left inside receiver on a quick slant , right inside receiver on post route, left outside receiver on a go route and right outside on an out route. the running back would stay at home to block the uncovered end or LB in the blocking and the QB would make a pre snap read of the 4 receivers based on coverage matchup. In TDD's rendition they are playing straight man so the best options are either the inside post or the go route.

Thanks FR...I have learned a lot about the game of football these many years and broadcasting high school football and taking the coaching class with Dr Cohu really helped me to look at the game a lot closer. I am a very big proponent of fundamentals (something that seems to be very lacking in football today)
