If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

I think his Curry bashing was a little much but overall the crew did well.

It was a lot of fun to be there. The students were back so that's always a blast. They kept making fun of how young Curry looks. There was a yellow sign with a drawing of Curry doing a lay up and it said "Caution, children at play" then chants of "past your bedtime" and "steeeeeven....steeeeeeven"

Without a doubt he struggled though. They wouldnt leave his hip pocket. I like him bringing the ball up in the open court in transition but they need a PG to bring up the ball for half court sets. In one sense its getting him ready for the NBA and in the other they have a better chance to win right now if they can get a good PG like they had last year

by far the best fans in all of sports....these guys are special

HMO is fishin'.........but I'll bite.
"The issue is a sensitive one for Krzyzewski, who worked hard in his early years to establish a great atmosphere at Cameron. Duke games are always sold out, but some fans, and even Duke students, have failed to show up with their previous devotion. Duke student leaders tried to address that last season with a new ticket distribution system that allowed students to sign up online."

“Let’s go after it. Let’s go after it by getting a good atmosphere. We could be better, but it’s a group thing. It can t be just a TV thing. …"

You just gotta be there...that's about all I can say

The Dean Dome lost a lot IMO when they made the move

duke fans are not the best unless coming up with dorky things to chant in games qualifies as making them the best, then no one can compete because other schools with good fans arent nearly as dorky as the dookies are.

It's by far the greatest atmosphere I've ever been to including MNF games, World Series games etc

but that's just my personal experience....nothing comes close at least what I've been to

That is true. I heard many stories of how Carmichael ROCKED....people sitting up in the rafters.

But, I took my dook buddy to the UNC/Ohio State game in '06 when tOSU was #1. He really couldn't believe that the DD could be that loud. Just to talk, you had to yell & even then you couldn't hear it that well.

Yeah...that's the atmosphere that makes Dukes homecourt record so good

I know youre a UNC fan but you have to go to at least 1 game there before you die...it'll be impressive

Duke has a great atmosphere. No one will deny that. As for having the best fans in the country, I'm going to disagree.

Well you have to offer others that you think top them...

It's hard to say. There are so many schools out there that are good that just don't get the publicity. I'm willing to bet Gonzaga is just as good or better. There are mid-majors across the country that are really good but they're not on ESPN.

I'm sure the list is small for those that are willing to camp out a month in advance for tickets...

I'm willing to bet if other schools had to go to those measures that other fans would. No one else has to though. The other schools use different systems.

I'm not saying Duke's students aren't good because they are. However, you put them in a modern arena like most schools have gone to and it's just another good student body. The atmosphere at Cameron is great because of the facility and how small everything is. That's why people say the new arenas killed places like UNC and NC State.

Kentucky (I think they are the best, but I am biased of course) ranks #1 in attendance almost every single year, has fans that are arguable even more rabid and supportive than duke fans, and sells out virtually every single game, even against the scrubs on their non-conference schedule. here's an ESPN article about UK fans in regards to Big BLue Madness http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/ ... ortCat=ncb
Fans were allowed to start pitching tents only three days before tickets were distributed -- back in the 1990s, a guy named Wally Clark used to park his mobile home out front more than a month in advance to ensure he was first in line. The school reined that in, and now the tent people must wait for permission from the UK administration at the crack of dawn on that Wednesday to set up camp.

By the time the free tickets were distributed Saturday at first light, those in line numbered in the thousands. On the morning of Sept. 27, it took 40 minutes for Kentucky to dish out 23,000 tickets to those in line and those securing them online. For practice.

Hey, if you offer the students enough free stuff they'll show up. Trust me.

best fans is kind of a hard argument. there are so many factors that could be included and unknown things. I would say cameron is the best college basketball environment

I wouldn't disagree that it could be the best environment. It's still got the old school college feel to it and not the modern arena feel.

To use an example that hits home: people on here talk about how rabid the fans were in the old Liberty Gym. They talk about how loud it was and how great the environment was. Now, because we're in a huge arena, even with 2-3x more (at times) the environment rarely ever comes to that of the old gym.

after december, students line up to get into a small stadium. many are turned away. so the more dedicated fans on campus make it into what has been agreed to be the best college bball environment. you can't really define "best fans." however, if you were attempting to generally define it, would you not say the best fans would be ones you'd least likely want to play infront of? i'd say duke ranks at the top of that list.
