Rumor has it that hall meeting is being moved to Tuesday night this semester. One of the reasonings it because so many people are signing out on Thursday nights for the weekend to avoid them.

I used to hate hall meetings! They were so boring, and the RA's would drag on and on about insignificant things when I had papers or tests the following day.

either way the smart people will find a way out of those meeting if they want.... I saw just write a mass e-mail and say screw the meeting but I really don't care because I am not on campus

The hall meeting provides a useful logistical outlet for disseminating information and facilitates a cohesive environment on the halls, but, in my opinion, it was like an albatross on Thursday nights when one had important academic stuff to do (especially for the overzealous RA's two hour sessions, insert your personal story here.) IMO, it would be better to have it Wednesdays during the Convo time (less excuses to not attend) and have two Convos a week, which would be sufficient.

Assuming you meant "say" instead of "saw", I completely agree. If the meeting is simply meant to distribute information, mailing lists for each hall would be incredibly easy to organize. Although, I guess requiring physical presence does eliminate any "I didn't get that email" excuses. Hmmm. In that case, they could just let the Deans post pertinent information on a web page every week and have a "ignorance is no excuse" policy.

Mass emails are incredibly annoying, though and many people simply delete them. Hall meeting is meant for more than just the passing of info. It is meant as a relationship building time as well a time to share the Word. Plus a great transition into having prayer groups.

I was talking with my roommate from last year who is now an RA and he confirmed that yes Hall Meetings will be on Tuesday nights. One of the issues they are trying to address is the attendance problems, with everyone signing out on Thursday nights to skip. Also one thing that we talked about was, Had Hall Meeting been on Thursday this year, how would Liberty have addressed the August 31st football game??

All I know is thank God I am Off campus this year.

You mean I can actually find a seat on a Tuesday now? And not be sandwiched between two freshman couples making out? What sort of near paradise is this?! :D :D

SJ--is that all you have to pay to have a girl go out with you? It took me at least $20--and that was a quarter-century ago.

The ratio of guys-to-girls is like 1:3 now. The girls have had to significantly lower their standards to compete.

AG, you need to learn about the $5 date. I should call it the $7 date but $5 sounds better.

Buffalo Wild Wings has 10 cent wings on Tuesday nights. You get 20 wings and end up paying around 4 dollars once you add in drinks. Then you go to Movies 10 and pay $1.50 for the two of you because Tuesday night is 75 cent movie night. At the end of the night, you're out maybe $7.

I didn't know BWW had 10-cent wings night. I remember they once had 25-cent wings, which really wasn't worth it. Dime wings might be worth the trip, though.

I'm pretty sure it was 10 cent wings. I only went once because I had class on Tuesday nights.
